I actually like it. At first I thought maybe I should have gone with the 50. But I just need to learn where to stand.
I would never had gotten these with my other lens...

Those are GREAT action shots... I'll bet you could print some of those out an make enough to buy your NEXT lens in no time. Parents who only have P&S will be blown away by those shots!

Great job and great photos! Hope we all steered you in the right direction!

Maybe we'll see you on the sidelines in the London 2012 Olympics. :) Just remember us little people when your Olympic diving photos grace the cover of Sports Illustrated.

Thanks everyone!
I am actually very excited to see what happens once outside diving starts and I won't have to deal with indoor lighting!
Funny thing with the lens...it feels more like my old 35 mm lenses. I can't explain it but I seem to be able to figure it out a little easier....maybe I am finally catching on or less things to deal with since it is fixed at 85....

The more you use the 85, the more you'll love it. We added one to the inventory at the studio I work with last year. It truly lets you get shots you wouldn't in any other situation. Swim / dive meet is a great example. Besides the challenge of the exposure with water, the limited light is a breaking point for most. Great job.
