Almost saw some people come unglued this past Monday (Oct 26 I believe). I don`t know if it was the heat or just plain ME, ME ,ME! Some folks are just amazing to watch in action.
We got the breakfast package for the Harry Potter experience through Doubletree. Breakfast was neat, in the Three Broomsticks, the detail is amazing. The whole village is amazing and it was a blessing to experience it almost empty. Now on to the fun part, we ate and then proceeded to FG. Great, the ride timer was showing 000. We get to the sign and the CM says it is not operational, this was around 8:30am to 9:00am. This one family was berating the poor girl that their vacation is shot because this is all they wanted to see at Universal, bla, bla, bla. Total ******. We got to the front and asked if she had any idea if it was going to fire up anytime soon. She told us the standard line but if we wanted to go through the castle and take pictures we were more than welcome. That was the best thing that could have happened, we have some really cool pictures that has no one in them.
We were bummed but what can you do, it is a machine and a very complex one at that and it will break. We left for the afternoon and the pool and returned later that day. It was up and running again, heard it was down till around lunch time. So even with a 75 minute wait we dove in, it was our last day there. At one point while we were waiting I said to my wife it will probably break again because they were having trouble with it today. Sure enough doesn`t it die just as we got into the room with the pictures arguing. The death stares I got from my wife were unreal
After an hour in line we made it to the room with Harry, Ron and Hermine talking to you, though people giving up and walking out. Apprently we were not going anywhere till they kicked us out. It did finally start up again and we did get to ride it. By the way I`m 270lbs, 6`3 and I had not trouble with the seat.
