Agreed, but lets take this as an example
Person A "so do you HAVE a living will
Person B "lets not talk about this
A "But YOU OF ALL PEOPLE MUST HAVE ONE!
B really, I prefer to change the subject
A You know when I was diagnosed with cancer, I did one and updated my will
B I think I will get my oil changed this weekend
Some of us deal in different ways.![]()
Oh, that's true. I just think people should be caring when someone else is telling them about their problems. When my friend's marriage was ending and she was spilling her heart out to me, I listened and didn't make any shallow comments. If she wanted to change the subject or joke around, I let her do it. If the person is a constant complainer, just cut the conversation short.

She could always order the dog a cake...or not.

Isn't that what friends are for? Coming from her it was too good not to let it die down..
I was supposed to be off of work all week. It was a pre-approved for 3 months vacation. Right before I left I found out I had an emergency to deal with on Monday, and time was ticking. On my day off Monday, I worked until 10pm. I also worked on Tuesday for 5 hours which prompted me to decide I deserve the manicure and hair done. I haven't had the time. I have been averaging 50+ hours a week. If you knew what I did for a living and what has been occuring, you all would understand that it was a well deserved treat for myself. I know Mom2 was only messing with me, and I was trying to get my nails done before I had to appear in court on Wednesday (another approved day off). I was actually telling them on the phone what had been going on and why I was not around the beginning of this week when I should have been.
