Went to a baby shower of my neighbor this weekend which I was kind of not looking forward to anyway.
First of all the guest of honor showed up almost an hour late. Only four guest showed up
. Some of her own family didn't even bother to show. The hostess sat there reliving her own "horrible" delivery experience - all while a first time pregnant mom was listening and finally excused herself.
Then the hostess proceeded to belittle a guest for being much quieter than she was told she would be and not as much fun as she thought. The guest was obviously uncomfortable. The guest of honor then said it was because of the diet the dr. had to put her on and the fact that she now had to exercise 5x a week.
Then my pregnant friend proceeds to drink 3 glasses of wine
This is the same person who said she has to have a "big ol' margarita" before she could bring herself to register for baby gifts.
The hostess rushed her through opening her gifts so she could get to "the gift" that she herself made. It was a single bib and she told everyone as she was litterally in tears how she broke her machine.
I couldn't wait to get out of there it was so uncomfortable - Not to mention her cat was up on the table eating the food she had out.
I think this woman needs some lessons in hosting a party.

The hostess sounds like she could use more than just a little advice on how to be polite.
