What is "Commodore House"?

Is the "Turtle Krawl Activity Area" where the dock is to DD? How long does it take to get to DD?

Where is the walkway to DD? How long of a walk is it?

Are buildings 62, 63, 64 the newest buildings? (They're with lower numbered buidlings.)

What are the differences between the <#30 buildings and the >#30? On the map, buildings 23 - 26 look pretty good to me; our kids will be 13 (DD), 11 (DD), and 8(DS), so it would be nice if they were near activities.

The Commodore house is nothing but a memory. It was the original sales center for DVC. When OKW sold out, it was torn down and the new buildings were put up. Those were the source of points that became available through DVC after OKW sold out. It was nice, they had a cool ice cream parlor and supervised playroom for kids while parents toured and signed.

The Turtle Krawl activity area, the dock, Olivia's and the Hospitality house(Check-in) are all basically in the same place. Pull in to OKW, make your first left and its all right there. Its kind of like a mini boardwalk area. The main pool is there also. The have nice activities for kids everyday.

Building 62,62 and 64 are what took the place of the Commodore House. They are about three or four years newer then the newest original buildings.

The under/over 30 difference is simple. The over 30 buildings have a door from the laundry room to the master bath. If you have guests sleeping in the living room, this door can grant access to the master bath without having to walk through the master bedroom.

As far as lacation, requesting to be near the Hospitality House is the most ignored request they get. Everyone requests that. There are only so many buildings in that area, many are going to be dissapointed.

We have been in just about every area there is at one time or another. I don't even request an area. We have been very happy with every location we have ever had.

I don't walk much, I have no idea where that path is. I do know it is about a three minute drive.....

The walkway to DD is over in the South Point area - next to bldg 55.

It probably takes about 10-15 minutes.

It's a nice walk, but not "completely" lit - so don't plan on taking it at night.

It also can take you over to the Treehouse Villas - which makes for a nice nature walk, as well.

We were just there 2 weeks ago, and I walked it a couple of times.

Sure wish I was there, now.....

The dock and marina at OKW are right next to Olivia's Restaurant and the Lighthouse that you see in the OKW pictures. It is about a 10 minute pontoon ride to DD. The Turtle Pond area is in another area of OKW.

Rich described the over 30 and under 30 quite well. However for those handicapped persons there is also a difference in these numbered bldgs.
