Hi guys, just back from a 2 week great trip. Here are some of the places where we ate:
Espn
Germany(epcot)
Planet Hollywood(downtown disney)
Mexico(epcot)
Liberty Tree Tavern
Cinderellas breakfast
Hollywood and Vine(twice, it was soooo good)
Sci-Fi
All of these restaurants were great!!!
I will be happy to answer any questions!!

How was Liberty Tree Tavern and which meal did you eat at H&V?

I am most interested in your meals at Planet Hollywood and Liberty Tree Tavern.

I am considering an early lunch at Planet Hollywood. I am also undecided about lunch (non-character) or dinner at LTT.

Which meal did you eat - lunch or dinner?
How was the quality of the food?
Were any selections particularly good?
Did you wait long to be seated?
Did you feel rushed at either restaurant?
How was the noise level?

Thanks for your input,
penny

Liberty Tree Tavern was very good. If you pull up the menu that is exactly what you get. The service was also good. And thank god for those free soda refills. We had the character dinner. We were not rushed out. We chose to go closer to when the park was going to close to beat the closing rush out to the monorail.
It is really nice to have one decent meal a day. Everything else was on the go.
Hollywood and Vine- We did both since it was sooo good. First we had the fantasmic dinner pkg. You get a good meal, I mean an excellent meal for the price. A few days later we did the character lunch. The price was a few dollars cheaper and it was the same delicious food. Pull up the menu and check it out. I think it is one of those forgotten places. It was empty.

Planet hollywood was pretty loud but not horrible. We had dinner there and the family that we were there with went another time also. The selection is good, we had a range from pasta dishes, salads, burgers and of course chicken fingers for the kids. Everything was good. The wait was not long for us but when we left there was a huge line. We must of went around 6:30pm. I would suggest to go early. People tend to eat later in disney than the average dinner time. Plus planet hollywood is a popular hang out for younger/singles.
I hope I answered your questions. If I forget something let me know.

Someone posted not too long ago that Sci-Fi Diner had changed their menu and no longer had the traditional burgers, shakes, etc. I found that very difficult to believe. Did you eat there for lunch or dinner and did they still have burgers? Was the menu what you expected?

We went there for dinner. I do agree that the menu isn't too great. I did ask for burgers and they said that they can make one. They have a 1/2lb burger or from the kids meal, which is 1/4lb. We decided to order from the kids menu since we had a big lunch at hollywood and vine.
The burger was great it came with fries and refillable soda for $4.99.
I didn't get any shakes but I did see them going around.

Hi! How was the buffet in Germany this time? I've eaten there three times, twice before if was a buffet. We were a little disappointed with the buffet (they used to have really neat German dishes like Rouladen before the buffet) but I love the atmosphere so I was wondering about trying it again.

It's also been a while since we've eaten in Mexico - the restaurant is beautiful, and my younger son is now 7 so we should be able to find something he will eat - and the rest of us love Mexican so I'd love a current opinion on the place.

I know we will eat at ESPN no matter what, since we stay at BWV, it's football season, and DH is an absolute sports fanatic.

Thanks!

erick,

we dined at sci-fi during our recent stay two weeks ago and I was shocked that the menu had changed also! No burgers on the dinner menu at all and quite pricey considering what you get. We've crossed this off our list to be honest and what a shame as we love the atmosphere.

We dined at quite a few places and several character meals, I'll have to get my thoughts together and write a review!

Andychris14,

Thanks for the info on LTT and Planet Hollywood. Reviews like yours are particularly helpful. I really like that first hand info.

We will be at WDW for the Thanksgiving Week holiday. I am expecting that there will be large crowds of hungry people!

I am trying to make the appropriate PS arrangements.

Thanks again,

Just to put in my two cents worth....we went to Disney in April and for the first time, ate at Liberty Tree and Biergarten. Both were excellent. Liberty Tree is our family's new favorite (three kids, mom and dad).
Turkey was very good...the platters of food keep coming...and the atmosphere was wonderful.
Biergarten was also very, very good....but obviously, you need to like German food. The roast pork was amazing!

We loved Germany. I disagree, you do not have to only love German food. As I said before everyone should pull up the menu and see if it's right for you. They have a variety to each from. We love buffets, since you can take a look and pick.
I agree about the sci-fi. But as I said we did order from the kids menu(burgers).

Planet Hollywood is horrible!! We went there almost 2 years ago!! We have never been back. After a long day at the parks we went to Downtown Disney. Well we had heard good things about Planet Hollywood so we decided to give it a try!

Anyway, this is a recap of my experience.

First you give your name to the person at the bottom of a huge flight of stairs. They give you a piece of paper and tell you to give it to the person at the top of this huge flight of stairs. Well, they take this piece of paper and tell you to go to the 3rd story. Up yet another flight of stairs!! Well, this would not be bad if there was ANYPLACE to sit. They had 2 chairs there!! No placee to browse and the waiters/waitresses had to walk between everyone to get from the kitchen. Well, my son sat on the stairs not in the middle, ,but to the side. Well, you would have thought that he was yelling at the top of his lungs.

All in all this was a horrible experience. I will never eat there again. the food was medicore and the service was nothing to write hom about. I would much rather eat at Rainforest Cafe. Great service, great atmosphere and the food there is wonderful!!!

Another "thumbs-down" for Planet Hollywood! We used to frequent the one at the Mall of America, and compared to that one the Orlando PH doesn't measure up. We had a coupon that got us nearly immediate seating even though it was packed, but the server and the food left much to be desired. Talk about a blah burger and fries! A Big Mac or Whopper would've been a real improvement over the tasteless fare we were served. We agreed we'll never return although we continued to regularly visit our local PH.
