We were at Disneyland from August 8-12. We had a wonderful time! There were several things I did for the very first time.:goodvibes

*First time driving without DH. It was 2500 miles round trip. We did okay, but don't know that I want to do it again.

*Ate for the first time at Plaza Inn. Wow! I don't know how we never managed to eat here before!! The mashed potatoes were wonderful...and the chicken...My youngest DDs had the pasta and loved it.

*Ate at Carnation cafe for the first time. We had breakfast there. It was so much fun! And, we got to meet Chef Oscar.

*Had the chocolate cake at the Golden Horseshoe. It was my youngest two DDs first time to see Billy Hill. What a great time! The cake was soooooo good! We are all huge chocoholics, and we couldn't finish it!

*Saw my first DLR cat. It was a beautiful calico in the bushes at Whitewater snacks. We love eating on the patio there.

*For the first time, I managed to see Bones on Indy!!!!! I knew where he was, but had never spotted him. Yea!! I was even able to point him out to my oldest DD.

*Also on Indy, I saw the Eeyore sign for the first time. We always look...but this time, a CM was pointing it out to another guest with the flashlight. It is a big sign. I guess I'd always been looking for something smaller.

*Rode Casey Jr. for the first time. We were in the monkey cage. :thumbsup2

*I'm kinda ashamed to admit this one......rode the Mark Twain for the first time. It was a nice, relaxing ride.

*We watched the fireworks from IASW area. The projections were so much fun! It was less crowded over there and I really liked it.

*We also did the new castle walkthrough and pixie hollow for the first time.

We had such a great trip!! It was me and my DD17, DD13 and DD9.

That is so great!

Isn't it wonderful experiencing new things in the place you love?

Thanks for posting and passing along some ideas for our next trip. :)

Can you tell me about the Eyore sign? I hadn't heard about this before.
Thanks!

I'm glad you had a good time... I'm looking forward to doing some of those things on my upcoming trip.

Indy is located on what used to be the Eeyore section of the parking lot. In the projection room of the Indy queue, there is an eeyore sign hidden up high behind the projector. I guess I was always looking for something smaller, but it is pretty big. If you ask a CM, he will shine the light on it for you.

I liked the Pooh ride but was just listening to one of the live365's Disneyland stations and they had the whole routine from the country bear jamboree and couldn't help but think this was a poor replacement for that. Oh well, what's done is done.

Thank you, I like to know she's still around. :goodvibes

I agree. :thumbsup2 Love Pooh (and, obviously, Eeyore), but I still remember Country Bear Jamboree from DL visits as a kid. It was a family favorite and I'd love to see it again. They do play homage to the attraction in Pooh's ride. When you pass the Heffalumps and start entering the birthday scene, look up and behind you and you'll see Max, Buff, and Melvin -- the narrator's from Bear Country Jamboree.
