Some new info on Yak & Yeti

Hey all! I dunno if this is the same thing or not, but I did a search on Yak and Yeti and found the main website. Here is the link: www.yakandyeti.net

Ummm...I don't think its the same place the website above is for a cheesey looking Mom and Pop Place.

The Yak & Yeti at AK is being built by Landry's who has some of the most amazing themed restaurants around, like Rain Forest Cafe and T-Rex

Lately I feel like I can't say anything right here. I clicked the link given and it was obviously not a Landry's Establishment. It looks like a local strip mall place. I did not mean to offend the "Mom and Pop" establishments of the world.

I happen to dislike most chain restaurants and don't even get me started on Wal-Mart ( Dh calls it the Evil Empire )

Oh so do I, I must because the grocery chains in my town have been squeezed out. My town now has 3 super walmarts with ground breaking for a fourth in a few months. What town needs 4 Super Walmarts?

BTW I don't live in a big city...just an ordinary town.

We live in a medium sized city, had two Wal Marts here, one right across the river in ALabama that became a Supercenter. They just opened a Supercenter less than 5 miles from the house, have already torn down the old existing Walmart less than a mile from that site to make ANOTHER SUPERCENTER and also plan yet another one less than 5 miles from that one! For this reason stores like Whole Foods backed out of putting a store here. Not to mention all the Publix and WinnDixies we have. We had a small local chain here, yep squeezed out by the biggies. Sorry, I didn't meant to "jump on you" it's just that I see a lot of small establishments that try to do websites and it winds up hurting their business because the site lack professional polish. The restaurant looks like a lot of small, family owned Indian restaurants, really good food but not a lot of eye candy. No offense meant.

I agree this link must not be the Landry's restaurant planned for AK, but if they copyrighted their name, they might want to sue for copyright infringement.

I don't think this is the same Yak & Yeti that will be AK.

Not only are they putting in the Yak & Yeti in the AK, but also a T-Rex at DTD slated for sometime in 2008.

The same thought crossed my mind. I hope that they got permission to use that name or else the original Yak and Yeti restraunt could end up sueing Landry's. Why cant they pick a regular simple name. Since its supposed to be in Asia and based after EE, why not something like The Expedition Everest Restraunt or The Yeti or something in that nature. Not a whole lot of people are to faund of the Yak part in the restraunts name. They think its

I really think thats what they are going with. I've seen pics here on the boards of people's pics of the posters with the name of the restraunt on there.

The official Landry's press release does not refer to the name of the restaurant......maybe Yak & Yeti will not be the actual name. Just a thought, it may just be a rumor or even possibly put out unofficially as a red herring or to test the waters for possible names?????
