Sorry for all the questions, but here goes again:

I have read that some people request dining rotations....why is that? (I will be going on the 4 night cruise) If you will eat in each resturant atleast once, why request a rotation?

Also....still thinking about the room category thing. Need advice here: worried about seasickness and was told to stay in center of ship and on a lower deck. what do you all think about this theory?

Thanks....again and again and again!

I've never been able to figure out the request thing either except that maybe some have a "thing" for a certain restaurant so they get to eat in it twice?? Some people like to correspond formal night with the more formal restaurant like Lumiere's or Tritons I assume but other than those 2 things I dont really know.

As for the room category honestly I don't think it makes THAT big of a difference. For ME (and only me) it's more of a mind over matter thing than anything. We got upgraded for our cruise on Saturday to the front and I am freaking out about feeling the motion of the pitch and roll of the ship but I know it's more my mind thinking it should feel it than really feeling it. We've done several cruises high, low, front, middle, back...every one of them I have needed Meclizine no matter where our cabin was. In a scientific sense it does seem more likely that the least amount of motion would be lower and center but honestly for us at least I don't think it matters...we will always feel movement and will always need Meclizine no matter where we stay.

thanks Heidi......so there definitely is a formal night on the 4 day? Which day is it?

also, what is meclizine? I have heard of Bonine (and drmamime) but not this one. Is it prescription or over the counter? Does it make you tired? Can you drink alcohol with it?

mbw-When we did the 4 night Wonder there wasn't a "formal" night per se where people were dressed in formal gown type things...it seemed to be more of a casual formal type thing. I know I wore a sundress each night and felt just fine in it. I think the 3 and 4 night cruises tend to be less "formal" on formal night than the 7 night cruises.

As for Meclizine it is the active ingredient in Bonine or Dramamine Less Drowsy. It is MUCH cheaper to buy than Bonine and you can get it over the counter without a prescription although some pharmacy's like Walmart keep it behind the counter at the pharmacy. We get 100 tablets of meclizine for 8.99 as opposed to 8 bonine for 7.99 so it's a much better deal.

No formal on the four night. Some people choose to wear formal attire to Triton's or Palo.

Rotations are "supposed" to be scheduled by the age of your party members. People with preschoolers in their party tend to start at Animators. People with older kids at Parrot Cay, and people with teens or adults only at Tritons. It doesn't always work that way (though it did for us), and some people like to try and get into a specific rotation for that reason.

Also, some people like to request a rotation so they can plan their Palo evening. Maybe the menu and theme for Parrot Cay do nothing for them - and they'd really like their Palo night to be the Nassau evening. So they go looking for a APTA rotation, that puts them in Parrot Cay on Nassau day - and they'll do Palo that night and skip it.

I'm sentimental.

Our first Disney cruise (7-day) was the PLA rotation, and we were lucky! The first night we dined at Lumiere's was formal, and the second night we dined at Parrot Cay was Tropicali night. We felt very much in the spirit!

I booked the REAS, and requested our 'traditional' rotation.

I love silly obsessive planning questions, sounds like me.... :teeth:

On the 7-night cruises, the rotation also affects when the character breakfast is. This cruise also has the formal and semi-formal evenings, and as was mentioned, Palos. Thus, I think rotation probably has more impact on the 7-night cruise, with the 4-night close behind (which restaurant to eat in twice).
