Some good thoughts and hugs for a fellow DISer please.

:( :grouphug:
So sorry to hear about the loss of your fur baby. I can tell she was a very loved, blessed dog!

 I'm am so sorry to hear of your loss. I know how a pet can enhance your life, and when they leave they always leave a permanent paw print on your heart.

I know it is hard, but remember the happy times and memories she gave you. She would not want you to feel sad. I'm sure when you had bad days she went out of her way to make you feel better. Even if it was only to be by your side. All they ask you that you return the love that they so endlessly give back to you 10 fold.

So smile and think of one of her funny little antics which made you love her so.

{{{HUGS}}} and ****Pixie Dust**** heading your way :hug:

It was very sad to read this and I am sorry for your loss. It was better to read how you have a good friend like olena to make a post for your sadness and to help you with such sadness.

I was doing realy good this am, and then I realized that I'm so use to having her near me while I'm on the computer. Her bed was just to the left of where I sit and I could see her out the corner of my left eye the entire time I was on the computer.

I actually slept better than Iexpected. I had good dreams about her. Ithink the rainbow bridge poem really hepled with that. I read it right before bed. I think the biggest "adjustment" is getting use to the change in our daily routine. We do still have another dog, Panda (and 2 cats) but Sandy has always been by far the one who was always right by us (usually getting in the way LOL), and in the last few months we had to adjust our daily routine so we could let her out often.

I just remembered I have to call and cancel her app with the groomer, and her space at the kennel for our vacation.

I'm trying to decide if I shoudl call my aunt now, or wait until after her surgery on Tues. I know it will hit her hard.

Lots of hugs Sharon. It is sooo hard to let your furbaby cross the "rainbow bridge"{{HUGS}}}

Sharon, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your dog, Sandy. My prayers are with you and your family.

As someone who went through this after having a dog for 16 years last year, I can relate. I'm sorry for your loss, Sharon.

Please remember that even though we don't have our dog friends long enough, that we know that while they were here, we gave them the best life we could. I get a lot of comfort from knowing that. Hugs!

Oh, Sharon! I'm so sorry!

I can so relate to the pain, I love my pets so much and losing them is like losing a family member.

Give Brianna and Russell a hug for me, I know this is very hard for them. Wow, that baby was ALWAYS there for them, their entire lives....

God bless you all,

Robnrs

The kids are taking it better than Tony and I am. I think Russ might still be in shock. He took the death of his turtle much harder. but then again Bonnie (the turtle) was only 4 and he was partially responsible for her dying (long story and it was our fault too for not double checking things that he said was working like her heater).
Brianna is an "observer". She kind of stays back and takes it all in without reacting. she was right there with us when we had Sandy put to sleep. Russ wouldn't/couldn't go. Bri will likely start askign questions in a few days. I think she needs time to take it all in.

it's still hard sitting here at the computer. I can almost feel the emptiness on the spot where she would always be.

Funny thing... I've never really noticed a dog smell in our house (well except for when there are accidents etc). Last night when I got home from Heathers, it was like everything smelled just like Sandy. I had to burn candles today to get rid of her smell. It was just too depressing.

The rest of our "flock" keep looking for her. Tinkerbell laid near Sandys spot last night. You could tell she was waiting for her. tink is our 11 month old kitten who is in heat (should be at the end of it now). anyway she decided about 2 weeks ago that Sandy was her mate. she would groom Sandy and rub on her then "present" herself to sandy. I think sandy enjoyed the attention except for when Tink rubbed on her while she was standing up (it would hurt her hip).

Martha (13 yr old cat) isn't as effected, but she is meowing when she goes by Sandy's spot.
Panda (our other dog) looks slowly around each corner, like she thinks Sandy is hiding from her.

thanks again everyone for all the support.
