Hi, my family and I will be going to Disney this June and we already have two reservations, one at Canada and the other at the new Italy pizza restaurant. I was just wondering if anyone had any good suggestions of places to eat at, preferably not in Epcot since we already have two there. I know it will be difficult to make a reservation but any suggestions would be helpful! Oh and if anyone has eaten at the new Italy place, how was it? Thanks for your help:goodvibes

site has a search engine that will help you identify places that have openings. If you are a little flexible on where and when you should be able to find something. Just go to the "Where to Eat" drop down menu and choose "Make Dining Reservations". You can do the search without making a reservation. The system looks for openings for two hour before and after the time you specify. You can more than one location for a search. For example you can search Animal Kingdom and Animal Kingdom Lodge.

If you have a rough touring plan it might be a good idea to look in the area that you plan to already be in. That should save some time.

In and around the Magic Kingdom, Kona in the Poly, Grand Floridian Cafe in the GF and the Wave in the Contemporary are all good and fairly convenient. Crystal Palace is a buffet that enjoyed in the past but it has been a few trips since I have eaten there. The Plaza may have an opening. It's really a sandwich and ice cream place but the food is good.

Hollywood Studios - Mama Melrose or 50s Prime Time are okay. I think Sci Fi is fun but the atmosphere is better than the food sometimes. Hollywood Brown Derby is good but a bit more expensive.

Animal Kingdom - Tusker House and Yak and Yeti are pretty good. I think Boma and Sanaa at the Animal Kingdom Lodge are better but are not for everyone.

Downtown Disney has a lot of choices but many not on the dining plan. Raglan Road is good and I like House of Blues but it is not on the DDP. Rain Forest and T-Rex appeals to people with kids.

Good luck

The Pizza is outstanding. Ate there last trip and have eaten three times at DTD in California (Same pizza).

Use the dining site on the WDW website to look at what is available at the places you will be and decide from that.

I ate at Via Napoli on May 6th and it was outstanding!!! We kept checking the WDW website for a ressie but they had none so we just walked up at 12pm and got a 6:30 ressie. I had the Penne con pollo pasta and it was out of this world! Our meal did seem to take forever 2 hours but since we scored that walk up I could not complain. My friends had the mussels, clam and shrimp pasta and they said it was superb. We got the Ricotta fritters with whipped cream and chocolate sauce for dessers and even though they arrived lukewarm to our table they still were so yummy!:cool1:

Outside Epcot, there are quite a few! Here are a few thoughts:

Animal Kingdom - Yak and Yeti ( the table service location - they have a table service and a counter service ). We've eatten here quite a few times and found it very close to our local chinese restaurant at home.

Kona at Poly - food is always fresh and the cast members are so friendly!

California Grill at Contemporary - a bit on the gourmet side, but the food very very good and enough to fill you up.

Whispering Caynon at Wilderness Lodge - just good fun! Very casual. Love the skillets!

Happy Dining!
