My family and I are riding the Monorail as I write this and it's our last night here at WDW. This is our 12th trip with our daughter and we had some firsts. We rented a vacation home off property this trip. We loved the extra space but missed being on property terribly. Another first was being in the Magic Kingdom on 7/4 - park reached full capacity. What an experience. Although the fireworks were amazing and the home was beautiful, I don't know if we'll do either again. Some of our traditions that we did were our first breakfast is the character breakfast at O'Hana's and watching the opening of MK. All in all it was a wonderful trip and a little sad to leave but I'm looking forward to planning our next visit. Good night DISers from WDW.

I am glad you had a wonderful trip! :) Like you said, the bright side to the end of a trip is being able to plan your next one, although it doesn't stop me from crying my way out of our last park. ;) Have a safe trip home and happy planning!!

we usually stay off property and get an early afternoon flight home. so we like to have our last breakfast at ohana and take our final spin on the monorail just to say goodbye to the castle. it is sad but something we always want to do. we have a lot of things we always want to do every trip but I always find atleast one new thing to put into our plans. it is always nice to have a new experience to keep things fresh and interesting. and we grow from them.

We've been blessed with being able to go every year since 2005 and with each visit itbecomes increasingly harder to say "See ya real soon!" I'm glad to see there are other O'Hana breakfast fans. It's a must do for us. I can seriously say that we've ridden the monorail just for the experience. I think we all have a case of ODD - Obsessive Disney Disorder. :)

glad you had a good trip O.p

my ending to a disney trip always is the fireworks, stay for fireworks go back to resort and sleep in the following day before heading to orlando international.

always a sad moment, hearing the goodnight kiss and fireworks. everyone heading to the busses and everyone is normally dead silent on the bus as everyone is just dying to hit a pillow. ipod is normally on and im listenign to when you wish upon a star and have a quiet little moment to myself with a tear in my eye

the following day is reurn to normality  never a good day lol

Traditions and new things should be the theme of everyone's WDW trip!
I always try to incorporate both...
Since we always seem to stay at different onsite resorts and visit different WDW parks during each trip, it's hard to say which steadfast traditions we MUST do EVERY time. However, each trip has the purpose of trying something new...

My upcoming trip (8 days!!!) has the following new things: 1. Spend more than 5 disappointed minutes at Hollywood Studios (and actually ride TSMM, which means rope drop!) 2. See a show at AK (FOTLK) 3. Eat a Spicy Chicken waffle sandwich at Sleepy Hollow 4. Stay away from Epcot, for once. (Actually, Epcot usurped one MK evening on my most recent plan, so I guess that's not going to happen. In 6 days, we'll be at Epcot 3 times for at least 10 hours total... Well, I tried)

Traditions then, I suppose, are eating lunch at Via Napoli, getting a Stella from the Rose and Crown beer stand, and riding the TTA at MK. I can guarantee these will occur during each trip (except F&W)

I agree with you on always trying something new at WDW. Your traditions are great! :)

P.S. I could never stay away from Epcot!
