Hi Folks

Ran across some info I found interesting - forgive me if you know this already:

Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa will be the largest DVC resort , with 552 units, when totally complete in 2005. (Signs are already going up on property for this resort).

Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort has just sold out of memberships.

Disney's Vero Beach Resort is expected to sell out this summer.

Disney's Beach Club Villas is expected to sell out this summer.

DVC has more than 71,000 members/owners total.

Thanks John,

I don't suppose what you found had any mention of Eagle Pines in it. That's the one resort whose future isn't clear. But judging from the dates you show, it's plausible a potential EP projected 2006 construction still might be planned. Time will tell.

71,000 members. :bounce: Growing strong.

Thanks for the info! Looks like Saratoga and OKW will have a BIG DVC market on that end of the World!

I believe the information you are quoting is from a publication called the Saratogan. It also appears to be incorrect information, that is repeated frequently. If you go to the official DVC website, www.disneyvacationclub.com, and click on the members only site, you will find the correct information. The official site says there will be just over 180 total units, not 500+. Eagle Pines, which was announced in October 2001, (if built) would be the largest project to date. This project is currently on the back burner, but the original press release (which is still on line) indicates it will be similar to OKW. I suspect this project would be in the 500+ category. My personal opinion is Beach Club will sell out in a couple of months, then they will start selling Saratoga which opens in Spring 2004. If Saratoga sells out in 2005, maybe they will then go back to Eagle Pines. I think they did Saratoga first because the main infrastructure (roads, sewers, etc.) were already in place from the defunct Disney Institute. Again, this is my opinion, for what it is worth. But, definately go to the DVC web site for the correct information on Saratoga Springs! :smooth:

The official site says there will be just over 180 total units, not 500+.

The first phase of SSR will be the 180+ number, but the full resort capabilities will be well over 500, if constructed. They have access to all of the land used previously for DI, so there is plenty of room to expand the original phase of the resort.

Stay Tuned!

Hi Doug

Actually my info came from a memo a Cast Member friend of mine shared with me that came from Al Weiss, President of the Walt Disney World Resort released on 3/18/2003.

I just spoke to DVC this afternoon. I am a potential purchaser and am looking to buy in April! I was told the following!

Saratoga will open in April 2004? Are they planning to sell it before it opens, and what happens if people want to go before it opens?

Also, do you think there will be a pre-sale deal? Is there such a thing?

The rep was pushing (not hard) for us to purchase beach club and felt it will be sold out by summer. I liked this idea however I also liked the thought of a brnd new resort!

We are traveling in December (cruise) and if we purchase now we can use our points for that and then travel in in May or June of 2004 to Saratoga (that is if it opens on time?)

Very confusing!

Any info would be very helpful!

Hi.

If you're looking for a new resort, BCV is less than a year old.
