Im on hold with direct TV we're debating on switching from DISH

So this girl says ( in a very bored valley girl voice) "whats your zip?" I tell her ( FTR it begins with 837) and shes says " So your in Canada then?" ummmm no... I say " Im in Idaho" then she says " Idako?"

yeah that was it. Didnt do so well in geography did we?

Hello????

Directv isn't that much better. I was in a big battle with them for the past 4 months. Each month my bill said, "We appreciate you as a customer-$10 discount" However the $10 discount never showed up on the bill! Each month I would be told it would be taken care of. Each month I had to call back at least 3 times before I would get the credit.

:rotfl:

I know what you mean. Last week, I made phone reservations and the hotel clerk asked me for my zip code, and I told her I don't have one because I'm Canadian and it took about 5 minutes of conversation to get that worked out.

I don't think I'm the only Canadian to visit Florida :confused3

I didn't know that people actually lived in Idaho. I thought it was just for potatoes. :rotfl2:

Most people think Vermont is in Canada, too.

People think the same about New Hampshire, if they even realize it exists. I was amazed when I was with a group of extremely smart people from all over the country at a summer program a few years ago. They thought that New England stopped with Mass. They thought they were leaving the country the day we went to the beach here in NH :lmao:

Silly people ............. Vermont is a county in New York. pirate:

Rachael Ray always talks about growing up in New England. Last I checked, upstate NY wasn't part of New England. :)

I'm sorry some fellow DIS'ers have had troubles with DirecTV's customer reps. We've had DirecTV for several years and & have no complaints. They're *much* better than the local cable company (though it seems to have improved lately) and *REALLY* much better than our dial-up ISP(RCN or Starpower or whatever  they are calling themselves lately).

agnes!

Either that or Mass. In the summer and fall we see more license plates from NY and MA than VT. Thank you for your revenues. :teeth: Oh, yeah, and for giving the cops more people to pull over, so they leave us Vermonters alone.

I thought Idaho, Iowa and Ohio were all the same? :confused3 Some people think Maine is a part of a Canada too.

I'm defensive of New England too! New York has no business thinking it's part of New England :)

LOL about New Hampshire and the beach. Although I was a Geography major in college, I always have to remember NH has the beach therefore it's further East than Vermont.

after hearing that New Hampshire is a part of Canada --monarchsfan16, I hear ya! :thumbsup2 --for about the 3rd time at an event in California, I just told them, "Yes, if you drive far enough north". ;)

We also get we ARE Vermont or Maine--I mean like it's all the same state :upsidedow

When I worked in Boston, people would give me a hard time about living in New Hampshire. I would invite people up for a lobster bake and they would ask, "Do we need our passports?" :rotfl2:

I used to tell them when I switched my registration from MA to NH, I was instantly given a gun rack and a NASCAR driver's bumper sticker for my car! :teeth:

My mother thinks I live on the other side of the planet. She hates NH. That is why I moved there. I figured she'd never want to live with me. :rotfl:

It's funny because she'll say it's too far to drive to me for a holiday....and then say that I should come to her house in MA. Uh...it's the same drive whether you go north or south. :confused3

Hey, when I transferred my registration to NH, I not only got the gun rack and bumper sticker, I got half off my insurance, too. Welcome to NH!!!!! :thumbsup2

DH works in Chelmsford, Mass & gets busted for living in the:

'Gun rack, six pack, butt crack' state! :teeth:

He designed a bumper magnet glorifying his pride!
