Ok, since we both share a birthday (albeit not the same year!), I'll tell you
where I've celebrated my birthday solo: Counter seating at the open kitchena at California Grill, followed by a night at the Adventurers Club. The club is my favorite thing to do outside the parks, regardless.
I tend to slow down a bit when I go solo. If I suddenly get Short Attention
Span moments, it doesn't matter, as I'm there to do what I want to do, at my own pace. That means, I might stop to check out details of the park,
or live entertainment, or just sit on a bench and people watch.
I can't tell you what I would do in each park, because it will never be the
same experience twice.
I will be taking my fist solo trip in December so I thought I would sign up for a few tours. I think they will keep me busy and have people around to talk to.
The thing I am worried about the most is supper,so I am thinking about taking along a Disney trivia book work on.
I am looking for any advice too. Pam
People watching and soaking up the atmosphere-my favorite activities at any park. I love to grab a Mickey bar/beverage/snack, sit on a bench and do those two things for as long as I want, with no one to say "Let's go now!" One time, I just went in to MGM, sat on a bench on the Main Street for two hours, watched the parade, and then left. I know where there are great benches in all the parks. In AK, sitting on a bench in Discovery Island Trails is a great quiet area to listen to the music. Also in AK, the tables and chairs across from Flights of Wonder.
I've told my wife if I ever end up going to WDW solo I'd go on Small World and at the end of the ride I'd throw a fit screaming "Oh my God where's my wife she was right here...she must have fallen out somewhere!!!!" Then go to Pirates of the Caribbean and repeat...
Park must-do = Epcot. I usually do Soarin', Test Track, and the Living Seas (I can easily spend an hour with the manatees ) at Future World, then wander around the World Showcase at will. I love taking a book and soaking up the sounds of the pavilions from a nearby bench.
The only other park I've done solo is AK, where I actually enjoy standing in line for KRR just to check out the theming! I also like the Maharajah Jungle Trek for the same reason. FOW is also a must-do there.
Non-park must-do = the "monorail tour." I always take the bus to MK and then hop on the monorail for an afternoon's exploration of the resorts. I especially love walking the beach to go between the Poly and GF.

I don't go solo, but with my DH, as 2 adults, we love just walking laps around Epcot's World Showcase. It's good exercise, and such a pleasant walk. We're about to head out there today, as a matter of fact
The Behind the Seeds tour was pretty interesting, but I was disappointed that Disney seems to be less about conservation that the Living with the Land ride would have us believe. They warned us that the plants there were soaked with pesticides, so we'd have to wash our hands after leaving, and they told us that they were raising those alligators to sell for their skins. Yikes!
Another of our favorite things to do is the Animator's class at MGM. We LOVE that - it starts at 10, I think, and then runs every 20 minutes. We did it 3 times the first day we discovered it!
Breakfast at Boatwright's--gotta love those Sweet Potato Cakes!
Wishes.
Stop, Drop and Roll---ToT and RnRC in succession.
Flame Tree BBQ!
Ghirardelli's or B&C--female sundaes, baby!
Walt Disney World RR once around.
Country Bears--sorry, it's a classic!
Root Beer Floats with some popcorn while watching people in Adventure Land.
Tempura in Japan while overlooking the World Showcase
Victoria's and Albert's (yes, I know this sounds weird to do alone but I notice the tastes so much better alone)
Taking a ride around the Magic Kingdom in the Train
Ride TTA as many times as I wanted (which was 5...nice mid afternoon break)
I also set some goals for the day and it makes it interesting like on my last trip I was determined to
1) Find a paintbrush at Tom Sawyer's Island
2) Be on the first to ride the safari
3) Be first to ride on Soaring
I also like to do the World Showcase circle when solo or with DH. It's nice to linger in shops, get a margarita, a snack, sit and peoplewatch. It's such a pleasant way to spend the day.
