I've made lots of ADRs for just one over the years, but this has never happened anywhere else. Yacht Club Galley won't take ADRs for solos! Even the dining CM was surprised. Do they discourage solos from dining there? The CM said that I could probably walk in there, but even so, I've never had this happen anywhere else.

I haven't either.

we ate their once. It was definitely nothing special. My nephew is dinning their with his girl friend.

very, very strange.

if the character meals take solo - what right does a regular restuarant have to refuse.

try again - if you get told the same thing - I would be demanding an explanation as to why they won't take a solo.

you know I think all the tables are for 4. don't remember any tables for just 2.

I wanted to let you know that I had made a breakfast ADR in May for YCG as a solo, had no problem with it. When I got there I had the whole restaurant to myself, gave solo dining a whole new meaning.

Honestly though, I don't think this is ever crowded and you could probably just walk up.

Good Luck

I'd be calling someone above who you talked to and ask why the discrimination? That's what it is, plain and simple.

For a previous trip I tried to make a solo reservation for the California Grill. They said you have to have at least two people. Then I found three people to join me, so I made a reservation for four and it all worked out.

I always make my SOLO ADR's for 2 people and when I get the the restaurant I tell them it is just me. I find it is easier that way.
It is hard enough to get a ADR for 2 people at some restaurant's.

I have a solo AR for brkfst on my birthday in Nov
Gotta get my mimosa!

We made a solo at the YCG last May for a friend who was joining us for a few days (She never did show :( ). Anyway, we didn't have any problems getting the reservation.

Try again!

That is really strange. Why would it matter??? Hmm..I'd try again too...and if they still say no then talk to someone else...
