Should I travel to Universal solo? I have a free ticket through work but none of my friends are available to go with me. Thoughts on Universal solo?

Absolutely.

There are a lot of people that go solo. You will be fine and have a great time.

The Resorts at Universal are lovely and safe as are the parks.

It nice to wonder at your own pace ::yes::

If you can stay at Portofino Bay, Royal Pacific or Hardrock and you get unlimited Express for day you check in and day you check out.

ADVANTAGES OF GOING SOLO

1. You ride what you want when you want. You can use single rider lines.

2. You eat what you want when you want.

3. You can shop to your hearts content (if you like shopping)

4. You get up and go to sleep when you want.

5. Stay in parks as long as you want.

Go have a great time solo pixiedust:

Absolutely go for it...…..

You`ll have a blast...….for many of the reasons Robo listed above. There are many people wandering around on their own and love it!!!

I go solo and the list Robbie posted is my style too for the vacation

I will meet up with others that have posted trip dates

Easy to make plans and have days to enjoy the park with another diser who will eventually become your friend

Yep, enjoy being on my time, taking advantage of single rider lines, and happy to meet up with others if they happen to be in the parks when I am.

I've done it! Probably will do it again, as my kids are grown and out of the house, and my DH is a serious scuba diver. So I go solo when he dives. Planning to renew my annual pass.

I can only dream of a solo trip.

No consulting anybody else for every single decision.

No having to round people up.

If I am hungry or just see something I would like to try, again no consulting anybody. No what are you getting. Well lets get this and that and we can share. No discussion on if the dining plan is WORTH it.

See something you want to stop and watch for a few min? Do it. Want to stay half an hour, no problem. There is no one standing off to the side tapping their foot.

You are not dragged into stores you have no interest in.

Bathroom breaks at your leisure.

Like I said, I can only dream.

And about the high end hotel room, if you would only be considering it for the express pass, you might want to check out what it is running as a stand alone on the dates you will be there.

With 2+ people it is always a good deal, solo it may or may not be.

I already have a hotel booked right across the street just in case I decide to go! I figured I wouldn't need an Express Pass, especially if I go solo.

That's great to have a room booked. You should go. If you enjoy amusement parks, Universal's are great. Plus, if you feel like you do need the express pass, since it is day, and park(s) specific, with no refund, you can buy it almost everywhere in the parks.
