How soon do you think I could plan a solo trip after a hysterectomy? I'm not talking a "do a lot of rides" kinda trip. I'd be perfectly happy with a good book lying around the pool (After all, the doctor IS giving me a "bikini cut" so I can wear a bikini around the pool!:rotfl:) I just think that WDW would be a great place to rest and recover for a few days. I already have a solo trip planned in October, 3 months afterwards. Do you think I could squeeze another trip in or should I just plan on waiting for that trip?

Those that I know who have had a hysterectomy have had a longer recover road than they expected. Talk to your doctor about it, but from what I've seen/heard you will probably be too worn out to get another trip in. I think it took my mom a sold 2 months to get her energy back, and her was laproscopic. I hate to be Debbie Downer, but when I go to Disney I don't stop, so I would rather recover at home then be ready to hit it hard on vacation.

I think you should go. My mom went on a relaxing vaca a few weeks after her surgery, I think maybe two?

All I know is as soon as she got the all clear to fly, she was in fl & she still says it was the best thing she could have done. :)

Don't stay locked up at home... go "enjoy" your recovery. :thumbsup2

Definitely talk to your doctor before going. And continue following the "rules" that they tell you about no lifting, pushing or pulling. You probably can do the sit by the pool but would avoid going into the pool unless you are completely closed.

yes talk to your doctor... but I went through a myomectomy(only difference with a hyster is they left my powerhouse still going bleh:lmao:) in Dec... and I was back at MK on SM on Valentines day!!!:laughing::laughing: they gave me 8 weeks to recoup the last week I recoup at WDW:rolleyes1 So it all depends on your healing process... Good luck!!! if you need to chat about it give me a PM...

Haven't had a hysterectomy, but I grew up an hour from WDW, and every time anyone in my family had a medical procedure, we went to Disney immediately afterwards. Mom's gall bladder surgery--got out of the hospital and was on Splash Mountain that afternoon. Dad's chest wall infection--didn't feel like doing rides, but on the way home from the hospital we went and walked around Downtown Disney. My four root canals and two extractions--I was done in time for the 3:00 parade.

So it's definitely doable, as long as you get the clearance to fly! Go and have fun, just don't push yourself. Relaxation is good.
