Well, folks,

I've been to DW with my amazing wife for the last two years, but there was always something calling me back - "SOLO TRIP"... "MUST DO SOLO TRIP"...well folks, here it is!!!! MY FIRST SOLO TRIP in September with free dining. I'm having a hard time deciding which reservations to make as a SOLO - I think My first night will be Sci-Fi Diner as I think it will be easier to deal with as a TS. By the Way, yes.... I am a Chef... but it is always hard to travel alone no matter what profession a person is in... (EDITED, after re-reading my post and discovered that i've only ever travelled on Business alone) I guess I have never travelled alone for pleasure - always for business - and having a hard time wrapping my head around it... but if anyone would like to get together for a meal or two in September between 9th and 21st it would be my pleasure - I haven't made any ADRs yet, so maybe we can work on it together. Let me know if we can get together for an amazing meal....

Do many solo people on these boards get together for meals? Maybe I'll attach a poll if I can figure out how to do that... thanks for reading my ramblings...

I don't think there is a right or worong when planning a trip to WDW!! Go, have a blast, and come back with a huge smile on your face! I can't wait til my next solo trip...I'm not a selfish person, but I've found when I take family it just slows me down and I want to maybeeeeeeeee ride POC or Haunted Mansion one more time and no one else does lol...so enjoy!!!! You can never regret a magical trip!!

Scott - would love to - but I am going in Oct - have a blast.

you can also try Le Cellier, Cape May Cafe (BC), Kona Cafe (Polyn), Artist Point (WL), Boma (AKL).

like the resorts better than the theme parks.

Quite a few of us UK dissers are meeting at Rose & Crown at 2pm 9/18, I have an 7:10pm meal there after, I am sure you would be welcome to join us.

I'm going on my first solo WDW trip Sept 5 through 13 (2007) so I'll miss the Rose and Crown meeting, but it looks like I could meet Scott for a meal at some point.

I was cautious at first of doing a solo trip but now I'm warming to the idea. Meeting fellow solo travelers would be great!

Since I live down here I will often eat solo. However, I am always willing to meet up with someone, sometimes only for a meal.

Hey! I'm going solo for the first time Sept. 9-14th! I've been told by veteran solos to eat where ever I want. So I made ADRs for all of my favorite places. I will admit that I did not make one for California Grill, since I havent been there before. Seems like that would be more fun with someone.

I'm really looking forward to my trip, since so many have told me that it is fun and relaxing to go solo!

Check out the thread I posted on eating solo . . . .

Glenda you are sooooooo gonna have a great time! It's going to spoil you so be forewarned...PS I wasn't crazy for the Grill...left still hungry...TINY portions..I ordered lobster ravioli for dinner...got ONE ravioli....the dinner cost me 30 bucks and I was still hungry grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....I look forward to your TR...you are so good about writing them!!!:hippie:

I pretty much always eat solo. Atrocious manners and all that... no, I'm kidding. I travel alone so unless I happen to meet up with people - either long-distance friends, or newly-met DISers - I dine alone. Now granted this doesn't stop me from conversing with neighboring tables (and the people sitting at them) if they seem amenable to a stranger butting in on their conversations, or having a chat with my server on the rare occasion they have the time, but most of the time I'm all by myself. I may have something with me to read, or a notebook if I have the best of intentions in writing a trip report (disclaimer: this does not mean I actually complete, or post, it).

I can't believe they gave you ONE ravioli!!!!

Thanks for the encouragement! I admit that every now and then, I get a bit nervous. As for the trip report, I think it will be ALOT shorter than my last one. That was ALOT OF WORK!!!:surfweb:

I like to meet up with other Disney fans for meals. Did lots of this on my last two trips and had a great time. My next trip is planned for December 4-15, and I'll be looking for dining buddies for then! I'll make ADR's for four to six people, and see who would like to join me for a meal.
