One of the big reasons I bought into DVC is that I sometimes like to Travel solo. Buying into DVC, I don't get stuck with the single supplement charges. Does anyone have an opinion if I did the right thing?

oh yea!!! I have been a single member since 93 - love it - DVC is great for the single traveler.....

DVC probably has more singles than most timeshares.

you plan what you want to do and do it!!!!

you will have loads of fun for the next several years!!!!

I bought as a Solo and still am single. I do sometimes bring friends and family, but more often go solo. I am very happy with my decision.

I feel better now. I could never justify spending the extra money for a single supplement.
Thank you.

I too have invited friends and family to go with me on trips staying at various DVC resorts over the years. I have owned since 1997 and have even taken a few trips by myself. I find it refreshing!!

I'm not single (well, I wonder about that when DH golfs-all the time!) but I do go to WDW solo about once a year. When we bought DVC, I planned to stick with moderate resorts for my solo trips to save money. But for some reason, I decided to try out a studio on a solo trip once, and now I think DVC studios are so perfect for solo trips! It's like having your own little apartment. And when you dine solo, there's always food left over that you can bring back, throw in the refrigerator and have left-overs the next morning (ever have left-over sticky toffee pudding from R&C for breakfast? Yummy!) Wow, now I'm really getting excited for my solo trip to BCV for the F&G Festival! And please do check out the solo board.

It will be so nice to come down and get away from everything. Just to be by myself, will be wonderful.
I am coming down in a couple of weeks. I'll be bringing my son, daughter in law and grand daughter. Considering I just had major back surgery 2 months ago, I will need a vacation from my vacation. However, I'm really looking forward to seeing my grand daughter's (4 years old) eyes, filled with excitment. Nothing can compare to that.

Thanks again for making me feel so welcome!!!

It's always refreshing to hear from those like you who "get it". You will enjoy all your trips, I'm sure, solo or with others.

One nice thing about going alone, it allows you to stop and "smell the flowers" of WDW. There are so many details that most people never notice because they're rushing to the next attraction.

Enjoy your trips! :)

I'm going solo for the first time in November and I'm going because of DVC!

DH can't make it because of work so having the points made it so easy to justify the trip!

I am also single and just bought into DVC! I haven't taken any solo trips, but my first one is in October! I'm a little nervous because I've never been to Disney alone, and it doesn't seem like an ideal "alone" place (like the beach or Europe), but I've read about so many people on these boards that have gone solo and love it that I'm looking forward to it!

I think DVC is perfect for solos. As one poster said, if you stay in a studio, the little fridge is there for leftovers, which is perfect.

It gives you flexibility in terms of the size unit you want (if on occasion you bring friends or relatives), you pay it off in small increments(which always seemed easier to me than coming up with the big chunk of change to pay for the room all at once).

I'd say a wise purchase for a solo.

To everyone:
Thank you so much for your input. I've never been shy about traveling alone. Can't wait.
