This is a solo and a transportation question....
Is Mears the best way for a solo gal to get to POFQ from the airport in the evening?

I've traveled solo twice. The first time I used Mears. It was fine. I spent more time then I would have liked waiting around the airport while Mears waited to see if they could fill up a van. Eventually we left with the same two of us that had been sitting in the van all along (I was headed toward I-Drive for one night that time)
I was planning basically the same thing a couple of weeks ago. Then my flight was changed and the new one wasn't landing until almost 11PM. I decided I really did not wish to arrive a hotel I was only staying one night at after 1AM. That ended up with me changing my plans in two ways. I changed my first night hotel reservation to All Star Sports, where the rest of my stay was planned, and booked Tiffany Towncar for transportation. It's by no means cheap for one adult, but was worth it in my opinion. I made it to All Star Sports right after midnight and was up and ready to start my vacation first thing in the morning, instead of having to catch a taxi to a new hotel barely hours after I arrived at the first one.

I've used Mears solo and it was fine. It's not fancy, but it's probably the cheapest, safe way to go. Since you're going to a Disney hotel you shouldn't have to experience the complications that you might get off property. Last year was my first year using them to go to the All Stars and found out that Mears has designated buses that go to Disney property.
