Hello
I am going to Orlando for a quick trip solo- staying at BW- just decided as I have never stayed there before- and have a chance to have dinner twice at the World solo- I definately want to do one night in the area of the resort or of course I love Epcot and willing to do one night? whereever- signatures or other TS are fine. I like to sit at a bar when alone as I feel more comfortable or something like it but certainly can sit at a table by myself- please suggestions!!

If I was eating solo I would consider Raglan Road. It is a real friendly place and we always end up spending the night talking to the people around us. It is just that type of environment, might be the drinks. :goodvibes In Epcot you have Tepen Edo which is Hibachi and also a friendly environment.

BW = Boardwalk, right?
For places at/near the hotel, I'd suggest Flying Fish, Bluezoo or Kimonos for sushi (latter 2 at the Swan/Dolphin):
Flying Fish has some counter seats facing the kitchen, but I prefer a table
Bluezoo has a nice bar (area)
Kimonos has both bar seating and a separate sushi counter

California Grill and Jiko are both amazing restaurants and both have nice bar areas where you can eat. :)

I like the chef's counter at The Flying Fish. It's entertaining to watch the chefs and on one of my visits the chef sent a sample of something (can't remember what it was now) for me to try.

I will always bring something to read whenever I go to a restaurant by myself. This allows me to slow down and pace myself, and also so I don't just (a) rush through the meal, and (b) go crazy between courses.

About the only time I don't is if I am going to Biergarten or Teppan Edo, where I will be seated with others. And I've never done V&A solo.

Most of my WDW trips are solo, and I've found that there's not a lot of difference dining solo or with others. You're never made to feel uncomfortable or anything, probably because so many conventioneers travel solo, and there's almost always a convention at WDW. So I would just dine at whatever restaurant happens to be your favorite, or one you've been wanting to try, but maybe the people you usually travel with aren't interested.

When I stay in the Epcot resorts area, I generally find myself gravitating toward Epcot to dine. But I've also eaten at Captain's Grille, Beaches and Cream, Yachtsman Steakhouse, and other resort restaurants as well. I haven't had any bad meals in that area.

THANK YOU!!
I am thinking if this works out one night at Flying Fish- hopefully Chefs table and one night in Epcot- maybe Italy IM, or France CLF or UK- Rose and Crowene, though not the best of best food I always like Illuminations from UK here or at least a Lager (tradition of my husband and I pre-kids- have to keep for us right?)
Any suggestions for requested seating from above?
Italy I have been too?
France- would love a window view or what else?
UK - out side if not raining- inside? where for a single?
thanks!!

Alright, I'm late to the game. It sounds as if you almost have it figured out. :thumbsup2 I've dined solo numerous times at Disney and, before I read the 10 million posts telling you to do so, was going to recommend Flying Fish. I've eaten there once solo but was sat at a table and not at the chef's counter. It's in my plans to eat there solo once again this next January. Please report how you liked sitting up at the chef's counter (if that is what you chose to do) solo.

I've never eaten in the UK pavilion so I can't help you out there.

i would sit at the bar at Rose & Crowne. If there was a line, I'd sit outside at the Beirgarten with a Brat in one hand, and a Becks in the other.
clearly, not the choice for everyone, but thea't how I'd spend a solo meal at Disneyworld

I've eaten solo at Jiko at the Cooking Place Bar, and I loved it. It's especially nice if this CM is there-
