Hi all!

I am taking DS(5) by myself to WDW Dec 19 - 23. We are on the dining plan and I think I have all our ADR worked out. I have a reservation for him at the Neverland Club for one evening and that's where I need some advice. Where should I eat by myself that evening. I will be paying oop to keep his credits and mine in sync. I have traveled alone and don't worry much about eating alone, but I haven't ever done it at Disney. Any suggestions on places that would be fun, not particularly places I would want to take DS, and where it would be fine to be a single diner.

Thoughts?

How about the Poly.......maybe at one of there sit down restaurants or the Luau........you sit at tables with other people and no one would care if you were solo or not.......I have seen alot of people on their own at different restaurants.

I like either the California Grill or Jiko as there are spots to sit at the open kitchens where you can watch the chefs.

The chefs at Jiko might give you tastes of the menu items they are preparing.

Jiko is a little far from the Neverland Club though.

Go to the Kona...it's quiet and the food is great!

Concourse Steak House is also a good choice.

If you want adventure, take the boat from the Poly to MK, then get the boat to Ft Wilderness and eat at the Trails End Buffett.

The posiblities are endless!

My three favorites from last month were Le Cellier, The Brown Derby and Kona. Wait, make that four favorites and add Boma.

I eat solo at Kona everytime i go.
There is also a nice bar outside Kona that makes great mai tai's.

Thanks for all the advice! Now I'm thinking it might make sense to use one of my TS credits and then pay oop for my lunch at Hollywood and Vine the next day... Anyone know if it's easier for a single to get into Le Cellier?

I would assume that it is not easier for a single to get in than for a couple, you would still need the same table as two persons. Also, Le Cellier might be a bit far from the Neverland Club.

I personally would suggest California Grill as someone else already did. You can sit at the counter to watch the chefs and from what I have read, the chefs seem to be quite fun to talk to.

Another nice restaurant in that area is Artist Point, over at WL. Very nice atmosphere, good food, and a great view from the window tables.

Not wanting to hijack the thread, but do you make ADRs to sit at the counter at CG? This is exactly what I am wanting to do during my one solo dinner in May. My time to make ADRs is next weekend, so this thread is very timely for me.:)

Thanks!

Leslie

I have eaten solo at the counter at CG before, and I don't think you can reserve it ahead of time. I was offered the counter when I arrived. I'm sure you can request it though! It was worth it!

Now in response to the original question...

I have gone on three solo trips now. Some of my favorite meals were Le Cellier, California Grill, and Kona Cafe. good luch deciding!
