Has anyone who cruises solo done the parasailing at Castaway and if so, did you have to be put with someone else to go up? I keep contemplating trying it, but not really thrilled at being tethered so close to someone I just met. How often do they require you to go tandem?

when we did it it was 2 kids and me. They went together and I went alone ... they did not mix parties.

I know that sometimes it isn't a case of them going tandem to speed things up, in can be a weight issue. When my wife and I went parasailing in Waikiki, there was a lady who went right before us and she had to go up with one of the crew because she didn't weigh enough to safely go alone. I don't know if the setup at CC is different.

I don't *think* that would be a problem with me. I'm not Pooh-sized, but I'm not tiny.

On our parasailing boat there were 9 of us. 4 doubles, and a family of 3. The daughter in that family went up with mom first, then, after all the other doubles, she went up with dad, but they gave dad the option of going alone.

It is a weight thing, but, as long as you're not tiny, you certainly may ride alone.
