Solo Character Meals?

Sat 3/25 I went to the Crystal Palace character brkfst before taking the Keys to the Kingdom tour. The waitress was very helpful with taking pictures.
Sun 3/26 I ate at O'Hana's (Poly) character brkfst with Stitch & Mickey. Again the waitress was very helpful.
I had no problem and will do character meals again next time I have a few days solo

I went solo to my first character meal in December and loved it. Once I did it, I wondered why it had taken me 7 solo trips to get up the courage! I had so much fun watching the characters interact with the children. They would have spent time with me too, but I was just having so much fun watching them that they learned they only needed to wave, ometimes give a quick hug, as they went by. I was so busy having fun watching everything going on that I never felt lonely, "odd", out of place, any of those things that I'd feared beforehand. This was at Cape May Cafe, by the way; I was going to do CP solo, but I'm not only because another solo DISer is joining me. I wouldn't hesitate to do a solo character meal again.

I went solo to O'hana breakfast w/ Stitch and Mickey, Crystal Palace for Dinner, Cape May Cafe breakfast.

O'hana and CP were great. The character handlers were great about taking my picture if I wanted, and at O'hana especially, all of the characters spent some extra time w/ me. Stitch even sat down for a few minutes at the end of his rounds, I was at the edge of the dining room near the kitchen.

Cape May was OK, there weren't really any handlers walking around with the characters and I had to flag down the waiter whenever I needed something. I wasn't there for very long, but part of that was because I had a nasty toothache and wasn't really in the mood to hang around anywhere that morning, so my opinion is a bit skewed.

I have done the Cape May breakfast solo, and that was fun. I also did The Swan character breakfast, and that I also enjoyed. Last December I did the Crystal Palace for the character breakfast. I would *NOT* do this one again.
Although the style of the building is beautiful, the sound acoustics are very poor. EVERYTHING was very loud, very noisy, and extremely hectic. Children were running about everywhere! If I did have a companion with me - I'm sure it would be way too loud for conversation. There are many characters with this breakfast, so my meal was interupted way too many times.
Needless to say, I was a pile of indigestion even before I left the building.

I have done the 1900Park Faire breakfast; Donald's Breakfastasaurus; Chef Mickey for both breakfast and dinner; Crystal Palace for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
everyone of these meals was an excellent experience. Sure they may be loud, sometimes screaming, children in attendance, but that is their parents' responsibility to correct not mine.
In my opinion, the best breakfast whether character or not, I have ever had, is the 1900Park Faire.
I have never had an issue with bad seating at any restaurant, nor with slow or bad service. I have had CMs' help with taking photos of me with the various characters.
I intend on my next trip in Sept/Oct to do six character meals and am looking foward to each of them.

(If only there was a Buzz Lightyear breakfast)

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I also love Goofy's Beach Blast at Cape May Cafe in the BC....

very pleasant - also the food is pretty good here - small buffett - so if something is gone - give them a few minutes then go back...
