I'll be heading over to WDW in a few weeks to celebrate my birthday. I want to do something fun and not of the norm on my actual birthday besides the usual of eating at my favorite restaurant. Any ideas? I was thinking about doing a tour or seeing La Nouba since I've never been to a Cirque du Soleil show before. This will be my fourth time at WDW and my first time solo.

No one else has pitched in yet so going to try to get your thread hopping. Can't really go wrong with tours and La Nouba. Going to throw these out since I don't know anything about interests, budget, age, tickets, where staying, etc:

- try to join in with someone "selling" a seat on their Illuminations cruise
- go to Jelly Rolls and have them (tip) play your favorite song
- drink around the world at Epcot
- Exotic Driving Experience
- hot air balloon at Downtown Disney (assuming its still running)
- Sunday Gospel brunch at House of Blues at Downtown Disney
- sign up online with Earl of Sandwich and get a certificate for either a brownie or sandwich on your birthday (can't remember what it was or if they still do this)
- set your personal record of how many times you can ride Expedition Everest using the single rider line in one hour (highly recommend empty stomach and take a motion sickness pill); in truth, pick one of your favorite rides and set a "record" that you actually care about lol
- if a milestone birth date (like 40th or kids are finally away to college) get a couple of starter pin sets and trade/buy your way to your own "personalized" birthday lanyard which by the end of the day you will have as a keepsake (wherever you go, ride, play and eat get a pin via trade or purchase)

Hope this helps!

Cheers!

I would go to all 4 parks and take pictures with characters. I might wear something silly that says it's my birthday (like a t-shirt) and not rely on a birthday button to garner attention if that's what you want.

I have done 2 birthday trips-'one solo and one with friends. I gave the illuminations cruise to myself and my friends and ordered a cake for it. That was incredible so If you can join a cruise- do it! There are also more affordable options like the pirates and pals cruise. On my solo trip I decided to ride my favorite rides and had a meal at my favorite restaurant...it is your day- enjoy!

Thank you so much for you ideas! I do like the riding my favorites on my birthday. That sounds like fun and would put that park hopper to good use. It gives me lots to think about and get excited for. ;)

Have a great birthday "party".

Here now and managed to snag some Pandora park exclusives for my sisters so my solo trip can officially start without any other responsibilities lol.

Just thought of another couple for you:
- try to get on the Ranger Spin or Toy Mania top scores for the day if the lineups aren't too long
- complete the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom quest

Cheers!
