Okay - so - what was supposed to be a couple's trip to Florida - is now a solo trip.

(No worries - relationship is fine - it's an unexpected work thing and I know he'll make it up to me later!)

NOW - since I'm solo - I'm headed to Disney instead of the other plans we had - and now I need a place to celebrate my birthday dinner. Where would you go for a solo birthday dinner?

I'm thinking definitely table service, probably signature.

I was there last year solo for my birthday and to be honest I can't remember where I went. I suspect it was the Mexico Tequilla bar, which is why I can't remember it. Either that or I went to Brown Derby and had the Cobb Salad, wine flight and grapefruit cake.

I think I would pick somewhere that either I would receive excellent attention from my server or had a great view of fireworks, people watching etc. Then I would take my time and enjoy the meal and drinks.

California grill near the time of the fireworks. Although that might be better shared with someone.

Via Napoli has drop dead gorgeous waiters.. hubby won't be around to get jealous if you enjoy the view, eh? ;)

Where would I go? Via Napoli for pizza and tiramisu! But that's me. I would definitely do a TS, and one with a tempting dessert (can't have a b'day without a sweet treat). Is there somewhere you'd like to try that you know he wouldn't care for or be interested in?

I totally second Via Napoli. Food is great, servers are great, everything is great.

Via Napoli, huh? That would be a new place for me, too. Never been then. Humm... time to go menu checking....
Cali Grill is booked right now.....

Via Napoli is my fave! Love the food! A lot! So good. Plus the atmosphere is so lively and bright. As for the waiters, everyone keeps saying how drop dead gorgeous they are, ive been a few times and havent seen anyone drool-worthy? :confused3

Cali Grill is a great restaurant too. I'd totally come here alone, why not? The food and ambiance is great, as is the service!

I did a late seating at Tokyo Dining and watched Illuminations for my bday a couple years ago.

Le Cellier-love the food and if you are solo, you are seated very closely to others so if you want to talk-you can. I always order the fancy light up drinks which leads to conversation. I also like Chefs de France, Brown Derby, Be our Guest or anywhere you think you would enjoy the food. My first solo trip was a birthday trip-I ate in Mexico-it was great. Many solo trips later-the staff wherever you eat will take good care of you. Have a great trip!

I'd go to one of the places that you're seated with others like Teppen Edo or Biergarten, and make some new friends while I celebrate!!

Another vote for California Grill. Try to time your reservation with the fireworks, mention it's your birthday and asks for a table near the window.

Well, I wouldn't be there in the first place on my birthday since it's during a busy time in the summer, but I know I like Yak & Yeti and Tokyo Dining. You should go wherever you think (or know) you will enjoy.

I once celebrated my birthday at the Yachtsman Steakhouse. The menu had my name on it and I got a special dessert.

Thanks for all the responses! I actually booked at Artist Point. I've never been there and a couple items on the menu sounded appealing. I'm excited.

Happy Early Birthday!! I hope you have a wonderful trip. Don't forget to wear your birthday button and visit Mickey at the Town Hall!
