Has anyone ever gone solo to Hoop Dee Doo review?

I'm thinking of trying it on my next trip (in Feb), but wonder if it'd be awkward with the all you can eat food, etc.

Yes, I did. And it was a great moment of that WDW trip!

The show is great and the atmosphere is awesome! While your server will obviously bring more food than needed, you will not have as much food as a larger party, so it is not a problem.

We were there in Dec and there was a many in his 70/80s by himself in the front row. DH and I made up a story that he was a widower and he and his wife loved coming to HDDR. Not sure the real story but he seemed to have a great time. They have small tables for 2 so it's not like you'd be at a huge round all by yourself. :)

Thanks everyone! I managed to snag adrs for Ohana and California Grill for my trip in two weeks, so hddr will need to wait for the next trip (hopefully this fall)

Yes. In the same "dining show" category, with requirement of advance purchased tickets, there is the Mickey BBQ (also at Fort Wilderness) and the Aloha Spirit (Polynesian Resort).

Moreover, there are some regular table service restaurants with shows. One of the best is Raglan Road, the Irish pub at Downtown Disney. The House of Blues (DD), and the German and Maroccan restaurants at Epcot also fall in this category.
