My first solo trip is fast approaching in September  and I was wondering which rides can you ride solo and which ones are you required to share with some one else?

Thanks :)

The only ride that is a single seat is Space Mountain! All other ride vehicles seat 2 or more per row. Of course being solo means using the single rider line were avaible! :thumbsup2

On some rides that hold 2 or 3 per vehicle (Peter Pan, Dumbo & others) you will not have to share.

On others like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Test Track and Expedition Everest, they'll fill the seats! :dance3:

That's funny... No one filled in the seat next to me when I rode Thunder Mountain and a few other ride. I felt kinda lonely... :(

I've been solo on every ride I've been on where there are ride vehicles that hold 2 or 3. I've always ridden in a row with others on Test Track, but remember, they look for solos to fill in the rows. On boats where there are 4-5 in a row, I've been in rows with others, but I've had a few times when they've even given me a whole row by myself. That felt kinda wierd. One time the row in front of me was the front of the boat and thus more narrow. Well, they squeezed 4 people in there, and gave me the bigger row in back of them all to myself. On KS, I've always been with other people in my row.

I have had a few random "uncomfortable" experiences going solo on rides, but for the most part, it has been okay - or they have sat me by myself.

On the Safari ride at AK, I was alone and a family of three (mother, son, and daughter) were motioned to a row. They began to be seated, son, daughter and then Mom on the outside. The CM decided to toss me in there at the last second. The mom thought she was going to be on the end seat, so she could take pictures but then there I was having to sit next to her and she couldn't switch to the other side - it was too late. She was hot.... but I smoothed over the situation by telling her to take as many pics as she wanted - I had been a few times and had plenty of pictures. She was feeling much better then - it was like a bit of pixie dust.

But the most embarassing was on the Winnie the Pooh ride. Two families of three were in the queue right next to each other. One was a family of mom, dad and child. Next to them was a family of three adults of asian descent and speaking nothing but their own language. The CM pointed to their line - I assume because I was an adult and they were all adults. But the language barrier was there and they were absolutely horrified that I was standing behind them - they were yelling at me and pointing at me to get out and on and on in their native tongue. At one point, the lady standing next to me almost pushed me out of the queue. The CM did nothing about it and I was almost in tears. I tried to look around to figure out how to get out, but there was nowhere. I was rescued by the mom in the next queue who grabbed my hand and said, come sit with us. I was so grateful.

For the most part, they won't put you on with another person if there are not individual seats. If it's a bench seat, like the boat rides, most Fantasyland rides, HM, and Big Thunder, you should have the whole bench/car to yourself. If there are individual seats/seatbelts, like on most of the roller coasters or Dinosaur or Tower of Terror or Test Track, they'll probably put you next to someone (or you'll be put next to someone if you're using the single rider line).

The only time I can remember being put next to other people (in 1 solo trip to Disneyland Paris, 2 solo trips to WDW, and probably 30+ solo trips to Disneyland/DCA) was one single ride on Pirates at WDW - which was odd because it was a walk-on, and annoying because I'm used to having my own bench. They will put you with other people on the safari at AK, which is bench seating, but it's a pretty big bench and unless whoever sitting with you is pushy, you'll have enough space.

It really depends how big the crowds are I've gone in October to MK and have ridden by myself but then at thanksgiving was with others. I know that if you ask cm for a row they will let you go solo on some rides. Also I've done Winnie the pooh in a honey pot all alone no one behind so yay!

Most rides at WDW don't have a single rider line, and then there are others who used to have one and don't anymore.

The only two I can think of right now that both have and use it are Expedition Everest and Rock-n-Roller coaster. But in truth I've only ever used EE's single rider line, and even then it sometimes gets closed down when too many people discover it--It's by the gift shop exit, so it's pretty well hidden.

On most rides though, when you get close to the end, you'll sometimes hear CMs shouting for groups of a specific number, and then you can usually skip about 10-20 people in front of you if they're looking for a single.

Test Track does have one. A lot of times they will ask for a single rider, which saves a lot of times on the rides w/out single rider lanes. I had this happen on Soarin' and Space Mountain a few times.
I also did not have to ride next to someone on BTMRR, that's the only ride I can think of that doesn't have separate seats.

That's right, I forgot about Test Track's single rider because I only ever rode it once. My mom and I got off and we couldn't figure out what about it was supposed to be fun/thrilling. The "test" portion was jarring, and the speed portion was lame--we drove faster on the highway to the park!
But I think it's one of those things that you either love or hate.
