sold out rooms likely to open up?

I have a package booked for Dec. 2-6th at RPR in a standard room and tried to call and upgrade to a club level room but they said they have NOTHING left in the hotel to book, NO Rooms.....Can this be?
I was thinking it would be a quiet time ...wow!
Does anyone think .....I know it's a guess, that they will have any club level rooms open up? I have no idea if they even have many or what.....I could've gotten hard rock hotel but it was going to be 150 dollars more per night and I thought I read on here that RPR was about 90 per night to upgrade to club level.
I guess I shouldn't have waited on this......doh!

We are going November 3-6 and I would check frequently for a price drop and found all the hotels sold out for a time. I also thought it would be a slow period. Some rooms have opened up at different times, but the hotels seem mighty busy. I imagine Harry Potter mania is continuing, but since this is our first Universal trip I just can't be sure. Good luck with your planning.

We are headed down next week and all rooms are sold out as well. All rooms at all hotel. It is going to be BUSY!

Do they offer to waitlist a request for you or do you need to keep checking? I know at WDW it's actually become a fairly popular time to visit due to the taping of the Christmas parade. Are there any special events at Universal also during that week?---Kathy

OP: Your trip is a month and a half away. I would keep checking....rooms are bound to open up.

TA's block/buy blocks of rooms and when they can't sell them, they'll release back to the hotel.

It's still pretty far out yet...just keep checking.

But, no doubt a lot of rooms are full/sold....HP is doing that. Lookit all the peeps just here on the DIS who are going to IOA for the first time...just CUZ of HP. Imagine the amount of peeps we don't know about

yes agreed it's still 6 weeks away so I will just cross my fingers and wait.

They told me there was no waitlist or anything I just have to keep calling to see if anything opens up.
Even on the Loews website the hotel shows sold out for all rooms so... i wait.
The christmas stuff all starts on Dec. 4th also so I guess people wanna go as soon as that starts.....

Just a note....
The guy I spoke to on the phone last night said that because the hotel is showing sold out, if rooms cancel they will just go back to the hotel for sale not to universal room alotment.....not sure if this is true because at one point yesterday the universal showed sold out then all of a sudden a queen reg room came available and then today it's sold out again....so I think they do get access to them but they go quickly.
