Sold Out in December????

When I saw this thread I put in my dates of Nov 30-Dec 7 and couldn't get into WL either. I hadn't even thought of looking at it as I was waiting for AP rates to come out in Aug. and then booking it.
Do they hold any back for AP or are they truly all gone????

Expedia and Travelocity are also showing Wilderness Lodge sold out for your dates. Hopefully, there will be some cancellatons. I don't think they hold onto rooms for AP rates. If they can book all of the rooms at full price, they aren't going to hold any for discounts.

Doesn't really surprise me that's it's booked. WDW doesn't seem to have a slow time anymore They only have busy and crazy times. We went to WDW in Dec 07 and the crowds really didn't feel any different from when we go in May. :confused3

Thanks-that was what I was afraid of.
But there is always plan B (I just have to think it up now)

WL is always the fastest resort to fill up for the end of Nov and then into December. The GF seems to be the second one to fill up. As other posters indicated the WL decorated for the holiday season is just beautiful and so is the GF.
The POP Warner group typically stays at the Allstar Sports and Music and the POR and the POFQ so those resorts maybe crowded.
Sometimes if you are able to play with your dates you can get a room, perhaps you can split up your stay book a few nights at one resort and then a few nights at the WL.

If you're a AAA member, they are showing avalibility at the WL for your dates. It doesn't give the room catagories, but the rates are $191.25, $225.25, and $259.25 per night. The booking site says "contact property for room description". These look like AAA discounted rates. Good Luck!

Edit: The $191.25 is for standard view, $225.25 is for woods view/bunk beds
$259.25 is for Courtyard view/bunk beds

The AAA website can be misleading (I got excited a few years ago when they were showing availablity for the WL) it will not tell you the room is not available until you go on to the next step and try and book, then your dreams are smashed :badpc:

Since reservations have to paid 45 days in adavance try back around then. Some rooms may open up. Also, just keep trying. you don't know what may be cancelled before then.

Good luck.

They don't hold rooms for AP discounts. The discounts are offered only if resorts are having difficulty filling rooms. Doesn't sound as though that is the case at WL this year!

You might want to make a room-only ressie at another resort that you would enjoy, hoping to change it if a room becomes available at WL, whether rack rate or discounted. If that happens, you would book the new ressie, then cancel the old one.

After reading this post I met with my TA and made reservations for me, my 22YO son, my daughter and her husband for Nov 30 - Dec 5 at Pop Century. All of the land-only packages thru Funjet were gone for all of the value resorts. My son and I are driving and DD is flying out of St. Louis. The TA did get us our rooms and tickets, but she said the resorts are filling up fast.
I was hoping that this would be a "slow" time, but I guess this does not exist anymore. I plan to have Pre-trip report soon.

Stay away from value resorts during Grad nights & Pop Warner!!! It is EXTREMELY LOUD and people can be RUDE!! If you want a great experience book a moderate or stay off site at a moderate resort.

Well it's still slow but you're kinda waiting late to book a room so thats probably the issue.

Okay, so this thread also scared me. I've been interested in booking the CR for the 2nd week of December. I want the MK view too. I checked the AAA site for the AAA rate during this time and it came up as not available. So, at lunch I called WDW and I was able to get exactly what I wanted at the AAA rate. Whew!
