Sold out excursions

if an excursion sells out online approx 70 days out, do they hold back some % of slots for booking on the ship? Looking at Day at the Baths, expensive but thinking it's pretty good , or, just sold out because of the extremely limited number of other options in Tortola, thanks

If an excursion sells out before you can book I would highly recommend that you check when you board the ship. They may have either had a cancellation or put you on a wait list.

You can also check to book directly for the excursion you are interested. Many times with a savings.

They don't hold back any spots for excursions. If it's full, it's full.

That being said, since you aren't charged for excursions until within 3 days of them, many people will book something "just in case" they want to do it. As it gets closer to when the penalty period starts (3 days out from cruise), they cancel. So, just keep checking online up until you leave.

If something doesn't show up, as suggested, go to the Port Adventures desk once onboard to recheck and ask to be placed on a wait list for any cancellations.

And there may bea possibility that if enough people are on the wait list they may be able to add another group. It depends on a variety of factors, but sometimes that can be done if a minimum number of people are on the waiting list.

When we couldn't get all the slots we wanted for an excursion, we checked back once per day. Within three days, we got all the slots we needed. So even if you have to grab the spots one at a time, don't hesitate to do that. We almost didn't reserve it because we couldn't get enough spots at first. I'm so glad we booked what they had available at the time and then checked back.

I have also found this to be true of Palo Brunch reservations. It may not happen as quickly as within 3 days but I had what I wanted within a couple of weeks.
