I recently sold a small contract with a delayed closing. We have a trip in Dec using points from this contract. I would like to adjust our stay a bit to drop two days. Can I modify the stay as long as the points for that contract stay the same?(all extra points would go back to our larger, second contract)

I reread the contract and it just says I can’t make a new reservation so that any points will be missing from the contract as listed.

I did reach out to the broker but no response yet. We are at 31 days out from our trip.

As long as the modification doesn’t change the points on the contract you are selling, then a reduction in dates should not be an issue since it doesn’t mess with the points.

Just remember any banked and borrowed points have to be used first from both contracts and then the order of the contracts will determine which current UY points get used.

So you want to make sure you have it set correctly so it doesn’t pull points from the context for sale since that has to be listed first if you want the points returned to be from the second contract.

It might help to give specifics of what you used to ensure my advice is accurate.

Thanks @Sandisw. I was able to cut the days I needed to. I cut two days from our trip. I tried to rebook our second stay using all the points from the sold contract but we had too many borrowed points from our second contract to use the sold one. I ended up dropping a night from our stay(risking losing it) booking a fake stay using all off our borrowed SSR points, and grabbed the night at Copper Creek I dropped. I was willing to lose Copper Creek and grab SSR if needed, I just wanted to make sure the sold contract had the correct points.
