Solar Powered Tombstone

Yes, such a thing exists. But that's not the point of this thread. Lemme splain: While driving home a few weeks ago, we passed by a small local cemetary. We pass it every time we go out, but this time (at night) something caught DH's eye. Behold, it was no lie, a light up cross that sits atop the tombstone. Judging by the color of the light and brightness it emitted I concluded it was likely solar-pwered (and creepy)...sort of like the lights people buy for their driveway.

We sat in stunned silence for a moment before I shouted "Oh my God....Solar Powered Tombstone!"

there was a pause.....then DH answered quite confidently: "That's gonna be the name of our new band".


BWaAAAAAAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ever since I was a kid, my sisters and I would keep a running list of silly phrases and such, joking that they would be titles for a band we would someday form. When I was about 16 we founded our imaginary band after overhearing a news report on NBC one night about a condemned building's status being referred to as "Conducive To Vermin"....well, you know what we simply HAD to call our band then.

So I am officially announcing that I, Jennasis...former band member of Conducive To Vermin, am unveiling my latest musical endeavor (with my DH)...."Solar Powered Tombstone".

Man I feel just like Jack white when he started the Raconteurs!

So please tell me that I"m not the only lunatic who sits around thinking up weird nonsense like this!?!

OMG We just saw one of those yesterday! DD has a genealogy project for school and we were checking on some dates on my DH's side of the family. We arrived late at the cemetery and dark caught us there. I looked over and saw that thing and it scared the bejesus out of me for a minute.

Some of the Conducive To Vermin "tracks" we had come up with were:
Twisted Froggy
The Night The Lights Went Out in Kmart
The Squeek Begets the Crunch
Satan in the Sky
Dashboard Jesus
God is a Mack-truck Driver

Keep in mind that ALL of these "songs" are actual phrases that came up in ordinary everyday conversation...well maybe not ORDINARY.

They're called Peace Lights, and some of my customers LIKE them.

Our local cemetary (about 2 miles from our house) has tons and tons of these. They creep me out....strange to drive by at night and see 50 of these light up crosses and light up angels, and one person even went so far as to put 4 of the pretty hanging solar lanterns by the tombstone.

We got a cross peace light on my dad's stone...it looks really nice and we like knowing that it's lit instead of using a candle.
