Are these as popular in your neighborhood as they are in mine?

I have two that look like carriage lanterns in front of my house. They're the golden (amber?) colored lights, which I prefer the look of over the blue ones.

Lots of my neighbors have the short ones that stick into the ground lining their walkways or driveways.

I think they're so pretty. :)

I just bought some on clearance for my backyard. I love them they look so nice.

I love them. Wanted to get some for the backyard, but, sadly, we have some rather "unfortunate" neighbors (we're in a 3 family with a huge yard/garden and I don't like keeping nice stuff in the yard due to one of the other families  ).

Can I live vicariously through your garden lights? :)

www.Lakeside.com always neat ones. :)

I just bought 3 a couple weeks ago (70% off). I wish they had more because they are so pretty even in the day. Mine are copper lanterns with a tinted glass. They hang from a small shepards hook. At night they have a greenish glow to them. Even in the day light they really dress up the yard. I placed them in the front. I also got 4 (also 70% off) different shape and style copper candle lanterns to place on the little table. :sunny:

We have the amber colored ones.

My dh drilled holes in the top railing of our deck, and placed them in them. They go around the deck and down the stairs to the pool area. I LOVE THEM!!!

I have been thinking though...... do the solar batteries in them ever go bad? And can you buy replacement batteries or is it cheaper to just replace the entire set of lights?

we have the wired ones in our landscaping due to the amount of shade but they definately made the difference in our stream and waterfall garden,

Tooboys, I recall reading in the instructions that came with mine that the batteries could be replaced. I seem to think that you call the company's 800 number for them, but I also believe it said that the batteries should be good for a couple of years.

I wonder if after a couple of years of being outdoors, it'll be worth it to replace the batteries, what with wear and tear plus cost.

EX, the top one there looks a lot like the two I have. Mine are on those hook--like Poohtown's too.

I have one lantern in the midst of the rock garden/shrubbery we have in front of the house. The other is near a little maple tree that my parents-in-law gave us to replace the big old chestnut tree we had to cut down.

A little light goes a long way, I think. :)

You mean they work now? I bought one about 15 years ago, and it didn't ever work.

Some of my neighbors have those and they look nice but most bring them all inside for the winters and only have them out in the summetime. I wanted to get the wired ones since they give off much more light but have not gotten to it yet. I just finished landscaping the two big flower beds in the front of the house so would like to get some light out there and just had a 24x22 patio put in the backyard next to an exisiting 12x12 one so I would lke to line that with some light also....

They seem to be OK for accent lighting, but not strong enough to say light up a walkway

ok i left the flash on for detail, but heres a shot or 2 of our front yard, first we see the whole stream bed and all the lights in it:)
