Solana Resort

has anyone ever stayed here or heard anything about it? How far to parks, nice neighborhood, traffic, etc???? TIA

We stayed at Solana Resorts 10/07 and it was a pretty easy drive about 20mins to Disney I think a little less to Universal I don't remeber any traffic issues, I'm sorry I don't like drive so DH did all the driving so I can't remeber directions.

The drive to and from Solana resorts takes about 20 minutes. I didn't run into very much traffic when I was there. The neighborhood was quiet and well-kept, and the clubhouse staff was very nice. I didn't use the facilities, except for the free internet access and to print out my boarding passes for the return trip home (small charge for printer).

You are a short distance from all sorts of restaurants, and I think there are 3 Publix markets between Solana and WDW. It is a gated community, and I never saw the guard house manned...however, the gate is always locked, and only accessible by a code.

Hi

Just wanted to let you know that you will not go wrong staying at Solana. It really is a great resort.

Of course, I might be a little bias as I own a home there, too, but I just wanted to ease your mind. I do visit about 4 times a year so usually know what is happening.

There is now a shorter way to Disney and it gets you there in half the time. This route takes you into Disney by Animal Kingdom but it does have the "Welcome to Disney" arch that is so exciting to see. This road (429) has no traffice at all.

Here are the directions from Route 27:

When leaving Resort, turn right onto 27 North. Stay on 27 North for about 1 mile. You will see exit for 192. Take 192 until you see signs for 429 North. Get in Left lane and turn left onto 429 North. There is a $1.00 toll. When you go through the toll booth take the next exit and turn right. Follow that road and you will see the Disney Entrance Gate that says “WELCOME TO DISNEY”.

Cheryl, it's about 3.5 miles from Solana to route 192. I also like to take the Sherberth Road Left off of Irlo Bronson...it's not that much longer than the way you describe, and you avoid the toll. Takes you to the same entrance.

I was just estimating it to help out with a shorter route since I had not measured the distance with my car while I was there. I liked taking 429 because there was virtually no traffic but yes going on Sherbeth Road will also take you to the same entrance.
