Solana Resort Trip Reports or Reviews?

Hey everyone,

We have booked our first "off-campus" vacation for our family. Found a great house at Solana Resort in Davenport. Anyone stayed there? Any tips/advice/review/thoughts? Hints about best travel routes from the area to the parks? We're heading there in August. Local must-dos and restaurants? We are planning to do a few park days and a few other days checking out some of the smaller, local sights.

When we are at our Villa in Hampton Lakes .. we Pass by Solana many times ( It is next door on Hwy 27 ).

It is a great community & gated.

On Leaving Solana to get to Any Theme Parks is easy but can take up to 30 min + each way.

Leave Solana & turn Left onto Hwy 27 ( South ) Drive on for 4 miles & TURN LEFT onto Hwy I-4

Follow directions for Disney or Straight on For Seaworld .

( 2 ) Leave Solana & TURN RIGHT onto Hwy 27 ( North ) drive for 3 miles & TURN RIGHT onto Hwy 192

Stay on Hwy 192 for 6 + miles till you TURN LEFT onto Sherberth Road for Animal Kingdom & Disney Area

THIS route Passes many good places to eat especially at Formosa Mall ... Just after passing under Flyover.

Hwy 27 gives you freedom to see the Real Florida either by driving NORTH to Clermont ( Best Golden Corral as you turn onto

Hwy 50 heading back to Orlando )

Or Turning Left onto Hwy 27 South & heading towards Legoland ( 30 min drive & turn off on Right )

& Beyond .

P.S. You Can see the Fireworks , from Disney, in the Distance .. Turn RIGHT at Solana Gate .. drive up 300 yards

( Tank / Berry Road ) turn Left on hard sand road drive down passing the real Orange trees . & Look Right at the

Locked Gate of Hampton Lakes & wait for fireworks.
