SOG to MK before park opening

We are debating between SOG and POR. We have never stayed at SOG and my biggest concern is transportation. Apparently, their busses do not start running until 30 minutes before the park opens so we would plan to drive. However, what would be the best plan for MK with the work being done on the monorail? How early does the ferry boat start running? Would it be better/allowed to walk to the Poly and go from there? We will be there the last week of March so it will be a busy time.

Any guest can use any mode of Disney transportation. You could walk to either GF or Poly and use the boat or monorail.

If the resort monorail is down, the resort launch from the Poly dock to the MK usually starts running 45 or so minutes before park opening. It is about a 15/20 minute pleasant walk from the SOG lobby, so plan accordingly. You can also walk over to the TTC and take the ferry, and if it's running, the express monorail to the MK. If you don't want to deal with any of this, take a taxi from SOG to the Contemporary, and walk right over to the MK using the walkway. We actually did this last year when we had an early breakfast and the monorail was down. Bell services at SOG called for a taxi, and were at the Contemporary in a few minutes; the cost was nominal.
