Hi to all of the SOG experts out there!

My question is, can my husband (active army) purchase tickets for everyone in our party? Is there a limit to how many tickets he can buy at SOG? There are 9 people in our group (all family), but only 5 of us are his dependents.
TIA

I have bought tickets for guests as well as my family. I don't think you will have a problem. If so, buy them in a couple of visits or have your DH buy some and you use your own dependent ID to buy some.

I'm sorry I can't remember where I found this info, but somewhere I read that on the off chance that they want to check your id's at the gate, as long as half your party actually carries an id you'll be fine. We've never had our tickets questioned though and have been buying military passes for years between my parents and now my family.

Be sure to check the prices for those same tickets if available at your local ITT/MWR office on your local installation. Sometimes they are less than SOG, sometimes more.

As long as you or your husband is present at the SoG ticket office with your ID card the other members of your party can purchase their own tickets. SoG is used to dealing with the guests of military personnel. My brother had no problem purchasing his tickets as long as the my husband was there with his military ID.

We haven't stayed at SOG since 1995, but at that time my parents came with us, and SOG issued them resort ID's which they showed whenever a military ID was needed.

I just called about this because I had read reports that conflicted with what we remember from our SOG trip with inlaws a few years ago. The ticket office at SOG told me on the phone the other day that we would have to purchase the tickets. Our guests can use them but the person with the military ID has to actually purchase them. That means that the guest can not use a credit card or write a check for the tickets - because the military person must actually purchase them. I guess that means the guest either has to bring cash for the tickets or write a check to their military sponsor.
I specifically remember the last time we stayed there that my in-laws bought their own tickets. We had to be with them and show the ID, but they bought their own tickets. The lady on the phone insisted that the rule has always been that someone with a military ID must purchase the tickets.

Has anyone done this recently with non-military guests who were staying at SOG with them??

WHEN WE WENT IN 2002 3 OTHER NON MILITARY FAMILIES TRAVELED WITH US. THEY WERE ALL ABLE TO BUY TICKETS AS LONG AS MY HUSBAND WAS THERE WITH ID. I KNOW WHAT THEY SAY BECAUSE WE WERE EXPECTING THE SAME PROBLEM. BUT THAT WASN'T THE CASE.
GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for all the info.............I think I'll just tell the rest of the family to bring cash, and DH and I can make the purchase.

We were at SoG last week. My father showed his military ID and I paid for my tickets with my credit card. The Sponsor has to be present with the ID, but you CAN purchase your tickets with your own credit card.
