Does anyone know if a servicemember must be staying at shades of green in order to utilize its ticket office (with slightly discounted park hoppers)? Also, does anyone know if the servicemember is allowed to purchase tickets for immediate family members -that is, adult sons/daughters accompanying the servicemember on the trip, but who are not technically dependants? many thanks for any advice. thanks.

You don't have to be staying there to purchase tickets. We were recently staying at Contemporary but got our tickets at SOG. You can buy tickets for anyone who is with you on the trip. We have done so for friends. I got tickets considerably cheaper at my local military establishment than they were at SOG. I was surprised - I thought they would be the same everywhere.

Your local military installation may have cheaper tickets than SoG because they may be older tickets bought at a cheaper price. The MOWR only passes on their cost to the serviceman, they don't raise the prices on tickets they already have. If not many people on your base go to WDW, they may have a backlog. Sog being near WDW property will have quick turn around on the tickets and not have a backlog. SoG does offer Annual Passes at a discount and these are not usually available at military bases.

our military base has cheaper tickets than the ones at shades of the green. you should give your local mwr a call.
