I'm trying to decide about getting the 6 day php or the length of stay pass for SOG....anyone have any experience with this? we are staying sat to sat (check out sat morning)....would that be considered a 7 or 8 day stay? i'm assuming it's 7 but i may be wrong.....since we're leaving so early on the check out day, having a 8 day s&s pass wouldn't be worth it.

any suggestions?

First of all- Do you qualify for the the Armed Forces Salute (Active Duty, or Activated reservist?) Because those tickets are definitely cheapest ($99 for 5 days, Active Duty person is free).

If not, I would do the 6 day PHP because it's cheaper, and the days never expire- in case you decided to skip a park day (or someone got sick, heaven forbid).

but luckily he didn't get activated for the reserves....he volunteered to go out to the base often enough & then the war ended before he was scheduled to do his tour in guam....thanks for the advice....we'll probably do the 6 day php since i'll have an infant with us.....we can do to downtown disney, etc that first day (but i HATE to miss a WHOLE DAY at the parks!).

akrake,

Even though it says differently in the literature, you can buy S&S passes for less than the number of days that you're going to be there....but the days you do buy do have to be used consecutively. I've done this before several times, and will be doing it again for our Family Reunion in December. For instance, when I went for my daughter's birthday, my in-laws had 2 days left on an old park hopper, so they used that the first 2 days, then just bought a 2 day S&S pass for the next 2 days. We spent the last day at Downtown Disney, so they didn't buy any passes for the last day of the trip. The folks at the SOG ticket office are usually happy to work with you, and aren't eager to waste your money on park days you can't use!

Hope this helps!

akrake-

Another question for you. Did your DH get put on AD orders for anything (AT, several days, etc) since the Armed Forces Salute was offered? If so, you guys will qualify. I am a traditional guardsman who was NOT activated, but I performed my AT in Jun 2003. With my Guard ID card and a copy of my AT orders, I was able to get a free ticket (and I would have been eligible to buy companion tickets if needed).

DH is Active duty for me, so we were prepared to buy the companion ticket for me. It was a nice bonus to get my ticket free also. I had called WDW to ask the question, and up until the point that I was issued my complimentary ticket, I did not believe it was going to happen for me.
