SoG Saga

Well..............

As you can see from my countdown, we were due to arrive at SoG tomorrow.
Tuesday afternoon we get a message on our answering machine from SoG telling us that 'they are booked beyond capacity' and we are being moved to POR.

We called back and left a message for a return call.

We were called back mid-morning yesterday and we asked why we were being relocated. We'd made the reservation and had received our mailed confirmation in early April. It was dated March 25, 2003.

We were told that according to their records, we hadn't made our reservation until January of THIS year. We told her to check again, and she finally found us. At this point we were told that they WOULD make room for us at SoG, and give us the 10% discount on the rate for putting up with the construction. "OR....."

We could take her up on the POR offer, they'd refund our deposit AND- they'd pay our hotel bill for the room.

GEE, I don't know what to do!!! Do you?????

So all we'll pay for this weekend is the car rental and the food!!

Sounds to me like you won the lottery! Congratulations! We were just at WDW last week. We spent our first night at POR and when Mom and I talked on the phone about our pictures (I just mailed them the computer disc) she said "Boy, Riverside is gorgeous and the grounds just get more beautiful!" It really is lovely. With all the $ you are saving you can have some GREAT meals.

Have breakfast at Boatwright's and order the banana french toast (like the famous Tonga Toast they serve at the Polynesian). It is delicious!

We stayed there about 3 years ago on an overflow from SoG, and had a great time!!

We've never done the boat to DTD though.... we just might have to do that........

Sounds pretty much like a free vacation to me. POR this trip, SoG the next trip.
