I received a confirmation letter today from CRO (I guess, it says Disney Reservations), anyway it says $0 deposit due and room guaranteed as I did pay a deposit to SoG. However, the balance it says due is the full amount, not the amount MINUS my already paid deposit. Who do I inquire about this now you think? CRO or SoG?

Your balance is not due until arrival, per the contract with Disney. We were told Disney was removing the "balance due" remark from the letters. I found that out this past Wed so, it could be those letters that Disney had all ready mailed out (Disney received over 10,000 reservations from us last weekend) still had that wording. Hopefully, the rest will remove it. :)

Thanks Noel, but will my deposit of $95 be transferred to Disney or refunded?

All monies on the reservations will be transferred. So, whether you had one night's deposit or the whole thing paid off (before tax was involved), it should all go over to Disney. :)

By the way, can someone help me with something that I'm sure is very simple? I want to be able to come into this fold and only see the new postings. When I went into the FAQ, it said to "Use this link at the top of the list of forums to provide a list of all topics in that forum new since your last login." Well, I must need to get my eyes checked or something because I am not seeing this link at the top of my page. Wouldn't be the first time that something is 'there' and I'm just not catching it. Would any one like to hold my hand and walk me through the process of finding this link? It would be most helpful and appreciated!! :)

FirstNo-

What you can do, which is really easy would be to leave the box at the bottom of your reply checked that says:

Email Notification: emails sent to you whenever someone replies. Only registered users are eligible.

If this is disabled by the administrators, you can use the "Subscribed Forums" option in your "User CP" area.

Hope this information helps, and thanks for all of the SoG information!!!
I've gotton 9 envelopes from CRO in two days.....

Noel, on the main forum page on the right where it says 'Welcome back FirstNo', the 2nd or 3rd line says the time and 'View new posts', click that. You will get all new posts since your last visit but it is for EVERY forum, not just resorts.

FirstNo, a couple of more tips:

If you click on the arrow to the left of the thread (instead of clicking on the title of the thread), it will take you to your first unread post in that thread.

Or if you do open the whole thread, on the top right above the first post you should see "Go to first unread post". Click on that.

Also there is the search function, which gets overloaded easily during peak times, but is very nice when it works. The search button is on the upper right in the "Forums" screen--where all of the forums are listed.

I'll make that total 10 in three days.

It doesn't show any of the deposits, but SoG is very good about that- so I'm not worried.

Firstno, we are arriving at the SOG/Contemporary on April 7th. I have a written confirmation from the SOG for my reservation and a letter they wrote saying I would be getting a confirmation from Disney. So far I have not gotten the letter and Disney CRO said I am not on their computers yet. What should I do?

lookingforward, we also had a problem with the transfer. SoG could not find us having a reservation at all! DD had all of her notes, names of people she had talked to and the reservations numbers. Shades did straighten it out, but a follow up call said we still weren't in the system! After another round with Shades, she received the confirmation from Disney a couple of days after.

We arrive on 3/30/02 and we've had the confirmation from Disney for a few weeks now. I would get on the phone and do some double checking! Be pleasant, but be persistent!;)

lookingforward: We are checking in on April 2 and got our CR confirmation only a few days ago. I was getting really concerned and ready to call once again, but then it showed up.

I called the SOG and after a half hour wait spoke to a nice employee who told me that we were confirmed and the reservation was still in the system. She reassured me that we would be getting the disney confirmation soon. I will call in another week if it is not there!

I can offer some explaination on why we (SoG) couldn't find you. The crossover guests (guests whose reservations start in Mar and xover into Apr) and those arriving the first few days of Apr were manually transferred to Disney and their reservations, in our system, were cancelled out AFTER the transfer. However, no one bothered to tell the resv agents this is what was happening. So, a guest would call to make a change and, to us, the reservation was cancelled. Or, a guest would call to cancel and we weren't showing a deposit to be refunded (because it had been transferred to Disney and, again, no one bothered to put any notes on the reservation so the agents would know). You can imagine the problems we've had due to a lack of communication. The PTB (Powers That Be) realized cancelling the reservations in our system wasn't going to work so, I think there were only a few dozen that were affected.

I'm not certain whether or not CRO can 'see' you in their system (for the guest who hasn't received their confirmation letter and Disney can't find them). We don't deal with the CRO you deal with.

I would recommend calling SoG and getting your Disney confirmation letter directly from them. We have over 10,000 confirmation numbers that still need to be placed on the reservations. Yours may, or may not, all ready be on there, however, we can (and should) call Disney and get that confirmation number for you, if we don't see it. Don't let the agent put you off. This is your vacation and you should, at the very least, have a confirmation number in hand. :)

Firstno, I am SOOOO Frustrated! I called the SOG ressie line and after holding for forever the agent told me that she does not, cannot, will not get me the Disney confirmation number. She said "not to worry, you are in our system". I am leaving in ten days and I want that number! Who can I talk to! I have not gotten any letter from Disney and they don't have me in their computers.

I'm sorry you received that kind of service. You've made me mad!! That agent (I hope you got a name) is very, very wrong. She can, and should as it is HER JOB, get you that confirmation number. If I were you, I'd call back and ask to speak to the reservations MANAGER....NOT the supervisor. I have a small suspician that it was the supervisor you spoke to who said she would not get you the confirmation number (only because I had a similar conversation with her a few days ago that I won't go into detail about).

Let me rephrase that, call back again, and ask the agent to get you your number as YOU KNOW they can call Disney and get it for you. I would advise them you are leaving in just over a week and don't want to take a chance on not having ANY thing when you arrive (any one who has travelled knows that things can get lost and unless you have something in writing proving what you are entitled to, it's hard to get what you paid for). You would also like the agent to verify with Disney the amount they (Disney) show on your reservation and the remaining balance due. Be sure to get the agent's name you speak with. Now, if that agent refuses to do their job, THEN ask to speak with the manager (Sharon). If you want to try to follow the "chain of command," you could try asking for the supervisor. If you receive no satisfaction from her, then ask for the manager. She answers the phones as well, but she won't be around as often over the next 2 weeks. With the hotel closing down, the front desk has lost many of their people and, since she's also the front desk manager (don't ask), she has to help cover for them, too. But, she has voice mail and you should be able to leave her a message.

I know she's a bit frazzled and frustrated with this transition period (we all are), however she is very pro-customer service and I don't think she would be happy to hear that one, or more, of her agents are not assisting the guests the way they should be. There is no excuse for it, I don't care how busy we are. Each guest is as important as the next. If you need to talk with her, I only ask you be nice in letting her know this not the kind of customer service you expect. I realize how frustrated you are, but you have no idea how many guests are calling and being downright mean and even verbally abusive to the agents and to the manager. This hasn't been pretty. :(

Firstno, THANKS for your support. I did call back and spoke with a really nice man who put me on hold and got my confirmation number. I did not know to ask him about deposits, etc. But at least I have the number! Its just frustrating to have to make three phone calls and hold for well over an hour combined to get the answers. But I understand the confusion.

FirstNo, you are creating a lot of goodwill toward SoG through your helpful, informative and enthusiastic participation on these boards. Would you have any objection to our sending a note to your supervisors to this effect? If not, where should we direct the note, and can we call you something other than FirstNo?

Wow....what a nice offer!!! I'm certainly not going to turn it down <g>. I don't think (I hope not!!) that my supervisors would mind. She's the Reservations/Front Desk Manager and her name is Sharon. Her boss, the Rooms Division Manager, is Melissa (she's the one who hired me a few years back). I'm hesitant to give out Melissa's email address only because she's never told me I was allowed to. So, if you would like for her to see any thing, I would ask that you ask Sharon to pass it along to her or ask Sharon directly if you can have Melissa's addy. I just feel 'safer' doing it that way. Sharon's email addy is: SPersons@shadesofgreen.org. And my name is Noel. I'm the only one there so, they won't have any problem knowing it's me.

Thank you so much for the offer. I've been helping people with their Disney vacations for years, long before I started working at SoG. Once I started working there, I just added my insight to what I used to give out to people on the boards. I'm glad that I've found a new place to offer some info and insight and may help to save you a phone call (those 30 minute waits are horrible...UGH!!). I appreciate that you would like to say any thing to my boss. It means a lot!!!! :)

Just thought I'd let everyone know I got my confirmation letter from CR and a note from Sog for my vacation in Feb 2003!!!! The CR letter gave me a different ressie no. than the one I got from Sog. Also it did not reflect the deposit I put down. I called travel at the DC and they checked my ressies at the Contemp. I was in the system, just hadn't had my deposits credited yet. They did see my deposits and they were being credited. I am not sure if I will recieve a second letter reflecting my credits or not.
