I hear alot of people walking to the Poly to jump on the Monorail, but what about going to AK and MGM, is it easier to take the SOG busses or walk to the Poly and take their busses?

I'd recommend just taking the SOG bus.

Since buses can tend to fill up during peak times, it really wouldn't be fair to the Polynesian guests if they can't fit on the bus because others are on there instead.

I'm not sure why you would consider that unfair, as access to Disney transportation is included when staying at SoG. That's like saying that people staying at the Poly should ride the buses as opposed to the monorail to give people who are coming from other destinations more room. Don't all people staying on site have equal privileges to use the transportation?

SOG is located on Disney property but is not a Disney resort, so therefore the monorail at the Polynesian is not part of the SOG Transportation. They provide buses for their guests. They can bus to the TTC and take the Express monorail from there. The monorail from the Polynesian is the "Resort" monorail and is for guests staying at the Monorail Resorts or for a guest coming from the MK to the Polynesian to shop or dine.

There would be no advantage to using the Polynesian buses to MGM and AK over SOG's own buses. In fact SOG buses only service their resort while the Polynesian shares with other resorts. I would definitely not want to go over there to ride their bus.

As an AP holder, any Disney transportation is available to me whereever I stay, even if it is SOG.

Thanks for the info.

If I remember correctly, As long as you purchase ANY ticket to ANY Disney park, ALL Disney trasportation (busses, boats) are included.

Actually, although SoG is not a Disney report, all of the transportation system is still included. Both Disney & SoG have confirmed that. When I called 407.WDW.INFO from our hotel, we were told directly by Disney that if the transportation times on the SoG buses didn't work with our schedule, we were welcome to walk over to the Poly instead.

There is quite an advantage to using Disney buses & monorail over the SoG buses. SoG has had some problems with scheduling, breakdowns, etc. with their buses. During our stay last month, we found the transportation from the Poly much more efficient than the SoG transportation.

Thanks for sharing this update.

Mike,
My opinion is pre-remodeling, we never had a problem with the SOG buses. We will be there next week and plan to visit AK and MGM. I'll let you know how the bus thing goes.

Ty

Thanks Ty, Let me know.

It's just that I hear alot of people complaining about the SOG busses.
