SoG Internet question

I found this on the SoG website...

Standard Guest Rooms include 2 Queen size beds, a single sleeper sofa, TV, internet connection, coffeemaker, refrigerator, in-room safe, hair dryer, iron and ironing board.

Does anybody know what type if Internet connection the rooms have?

I may not be much help because I didn't use it, but there was a keyboard there that was some kind of WebTV thing. I imagine that is what they are talking about for the internet connection.

They probably have the data port on the telephone. You would need the local dial up number for your internet provider along with your laptop.

When I was there in May, I read that it would cost $7 or $8 a day, but it wasn't working yet in May.

In June, they had WebTV that didn't work, or dial-up. If you choose dial-up (with your own laptop, of course), take a list of your ISP's local numbers. Verify ahead of time that they are not long distance, because it's a bit tricky there and the SoG operator was absolutely useless at telling us whether a call would be a toll call. Her answer? "Look on your bill when you check out and you can tell if it was a toll call." Um, DUH!!!

Hi

We were there in August (during Charley) and tried the internet with them- it was a complete nightmare ! I dont know if the hurricane had anything to do with it but it was very hard to use and very, very slow. It was a webtv type unit- wireless keyboard/remote.

I hope that they have corrected the problem- maybe it was just me though!
