I'm planning to do my own stationary for our Disney wedding in Sept 2009. I'm trying to get the ball rolling since I'll be starting a new job soon.

IMO, it seems like alot of DISbrides do their own invites, newsletters, etc. I've been researching Amozon for Invitation software but every positive review seems to come with a negative review (which has caused me much confusion:laughing: ) So I had the bright idea:idea: to ask you all for your recommendations.

Now keep in mind, I plan to do my own invites, RSVP cards, and whatever else goes with the invites, menu cards, places card, table cards, hopefully save-the-date magnets (I've been researching how to make them myself) and wedding newsletters. We have some of our friends asking questions about Disney Rates and such so I'm assuming I should better prepare now.
I would like to do all my own stationary to keep my Under the Sea/Fairytale theme throughout (without paying like a million dollars:scared1: for custom made stuff)

Skill level to keep in mind - good with word and excel, great with powerpoint, I work in a sales dept. now and I'm always capturing clients logos and graphics and reformatting them for powerpoint for presentations. I'm not the master of graphic design but I can be pretty creative

Now what are your recommendations for the best invite/stationary software?

Thanks everyone in advance!

i made my own templates using word. great resources are:

DId you have trouble getting your pics/graphics/clipart where you wanted and the text too? I found word to be a pian with using both text and graphics

If you are comfortable with the office software, then I would suggest Publisher. It is super easy to move text/graphics anywhere you want it on the page (unlike the difficulties you get with Word). You will probably also want to have Photoshop handy so you can customize all of the clipart/graphics you will want to use.

I am using a combination of MS publisher and word. I don't think you really need special software.

You can use Photoshop, Adobe Elements or any other graphic program to create the image and save it as a jpeg with a resolution of at least 300 dpi. After you have done that, you can either buy magnets at a local store or you can upload your art to a site like save-the-date-wedding-magnet.net and have them printed and plastic coated for not much.

Gues thanks for the recommendations - very much appreciated:flower3:

I think I'm going to go with Publisher and Photoshop since I'm pretty good with Office applications and really need a graphics program too.

Anyone know the best place to get a deal on these? I'm planning on muying in the next 2 weeks or so so I have some time to play with them in the next year and a half.
