hi,

I am hearing there are soft serve machines on board, just wondering if there are topping etc to make little sundaes or if we just bring our own?

TIA

I've never seen toppings near the soft serve machines, just cones. However, I may or may not have dumped the contents of a vanilla cone into a cup of coke to make a coke float.

You and I can be friends:). I was thinking of taking chocolate syrup and a cup and maybe add a bit of milk and stir.....

Oh of course, hadn't thought of that:) I
Will take my own just in case, but there
Is never enough:)

So my little soft serve hack...get TWO foam hot cups and then fill it with the soft serve...it stayed solid for 45 minutes in the blazing Panama Canal heat!!

That is a great idea!! :)

years ago I remember fudge an caramel, but its been a long time. but I've never seen anyone bring toppings either. that never would have occurred to me. I just enjoy my cone. sometimes a couple times a day.

Time was (on the classic ships, anyway) there were some minimal toppings available at the soft serve location. I've seen chocolate syrup, sprinkles, caramel syrup, and some sort of dried fruit. BUT, as things are generally messy at the soft serve location, with the toppings they were messy and sticky all over the place. I don't know that's why DCL stopped having toppings, but I think it figured heavily in the decision.

I remember when they had hand scooped ice cream on the Magic where Goofy's Galley is now. They also had a bunch of toppings that the CMs would put on for you. They also had a tray of choc chip cookies and a tray of fruit on that counter. I really missed it when they took it away.

We gave out mini cans of rootbeer with cute little cups, a spoon and a straw with a note that said "just add ice cream" as our FE.

You could grab cookies from the buffet and berries / bananas from the fruit display

The Dream will have an 'ice cream parlor' after dry dock. Not sure if it'll be soft serve, yogurt or gelato. It'll be where the arcade game room is right now. I personally can't wait for the new parlor - I hope they do it right - topping of all sorts.

That ice cream parlor will be an extra charge though.

Cup from the drinks station 3/4 filled with chocolate ice cream, then a good shot of black cherry vodka mixed into it, this was our favourite "topping" ;-)

I would agree the mess had to factor in. It seemed impossible to keep that area clean.

I'm glad they took the topping away from the soft serve area. They had them on the Dream too at least for the first two sailings. We were sitting nearby having lunch when we saw an individual (adult, not a child) use the squeeze bottle of caramel to top his soft serve and then lick the spout of the caramel that was dripping and then put it back. We flagged it to a cast member nearby so someone else would not use that gross bottle. Don't know if I saw the topping bottles near the soft serve after that but I hope we at least kept one person from getting ill from this inconsiderate man.

On the Magic this past summer our favorite ice cream treat was to go to Daisy's D Light and ask for a chocolate chip cookie and a bowl. Crumble the cookie and head to the soft serve machine. Instant yum!!

Chocolate in a drink cup topped off with diet coke!!! Ill have one within 10 minutes of boarding the ship!!
