Soft openings for POTC?

Hi, all,

Has anyone heard rumors of any "soft openings" before July 1 for PoTC? It's probably just wishful thinking since it's not as if they are changing the actual operation of the ride. But we'll be there the week before, so I can always hope!

From everything that I've been hearing it won't be open until the official opening date. The date is July 7 to co-inside with the opening of the movie.

It is scheduled to reopen on July 1 (not the 7th as most websites currently have posted). I doubt you will see a soft opening as it is not a new ride. Soft openings are so that they can work out the unexpected kinks in a new ride system. Since they are not changing the ride itself (just some of the animatronics) there is no reason for a soft opening. The only way you will see it open before July 1 is if they finish the rehab early, which also usually does not happen.

We were hoping it might open early too, as we leave to come home on the 29th. Maybe a little Pixie Dust will help.

Where does it say that it'll be opening on the first? I've heard that it will be opening the 7th the whole time it's been closed. I would love if it really does open the first since that is my last day in the parks and I could get over the MK to ride that for a bit.

Interesting -- Both Allears and Mouseplanet have July 1, but the official WDW site says July7. You would think they would time it with the opening of the movie...

On the disney website when you check the calender in July it doesn't have POTC closed at anytime during the month, even though it specifically states on the POTC page that it's not opening till the 7th. I imagine that's where the information between websites got mixed up if the ride indeed doesn't open till the 7th. I'm still hoping that it's opening the 1st though. I'd really love to ride it before I leave the world again.

Oh! That would be great, because it'll be my last day at the parks too. But I'm going back in Dec., so I guess I'll live one way or the other.

All Cast Member information has been updated to show it opening on July 1. It originally said the 7th, but it now is showing the 1st.

I would really like to see it open 6/30, I'll be checking that day, I don't have to leave for the airport until 5:30pm. I would like to ride it before I leave.

AllRIGHT we'll have a chance if the date is July 1 I never thought they could hold off through the July 4th holiday crowds just because of a movie openings....too many upset as it is over the very poor timing of this rehab
