Soda water same as club soda??

I know there are a lot of smart people on this board so where else would I go to find this answer....... I have a recipe for sangria that calls for Soda Water - is that the same as Club Soda??? Please help.......

In that case I would say yes as it is what I use when I make sangria. Hmm...haven't had that in awhile and my brother, et al are coming in tonight for a couple of weeks. May be a good addition to one of the picnics.

I always thought that soda water was the same thing as tonic....
