Im sure many have asked this question, we cruised last May and bought soda mugs, can we bring those mugs on our next cruise or do we need to buy new ones? we are sailing on the same ship the wonder and our mugs say the wonder on theme.

age old question ... yes is the answer
is it ok ... since you pay $5 a day ... they are meant for one cruise only

This is a heated subject around here:rolleyes: .

The mugs are sold for the length of your cruise. You will need to purchase another one if you want the soda on the next cruise.:D

Well... here comes the heat again but I for one would just bring them along...you never know and worse case you can use them at the "free beverage bar" on deck 9......OK...I want to feel the love...not the heat....

may or may not buy the mug - depends if we bring soda onboard or if DH insists on his mug

I do have 1 of our WLV mugs packed though

If anyone is a AAA member, I switched my reservations over to AAA, (this is even
after I had made final payment) and AAA gave us (14 of us) free mugs for the cruise.
Might be worth looking into if you belong to AAA. 14 x $35= $$$ savings.!!! And if
the same mug was still being used I'd bring it back! Charging $35 for a weeks worth
of soda? No Thanks... Gary

I would not have bought a mug, got one for free (not someone elses - long story) but I think I only used the mug once or twice a day. I would never have paid $35 for one. And as far as sharing goes the mugs are so small you would be running back and forth all the time to get it filled. I think DCL makes out really big time on the mugs and the mugs are really not easily carried around, so I think if someone paid the money on previous cruises, and is spending a lot of money on future cruises, remember we really don't get much of a break cost wise, I don't think DCL should even care if people reuse the mugs. The small amount of soda that is in some peoples opinion is "stolen" from Disney in no way makes up for all the food that is taken not eaten and thrown away. After 3 cruises I have seen enough food with one bite taken out of it sitting on tables to feed a starving country. If people want to save DCL money take what you want but eat what you take.

We brought our old mugs with on our last cruise and realized that the handles have changed (The make very slight changes every six months). This way the serves can identify if it is a mug that is being re-used. If you cruise twice with in a six month period it is likely that you may be able to re-use your mugs.

Disney certainly lost money when we were on our May, 2001 cruise on those mugs!

DH and a drink a LOT of soda, and the mugs were worth every penny (and then some!).

We plan on buying another set this trip. They also make great souvenirs. I'm drinking my tea from one right now!

Our mugs all have different colors Red, Blue and green. i did not know that the mugs were a touchy subject. Years ago i asked that question at WDW when we bought mugs there and they said you can use them every time you stay at the resort that is on the mug. I just thought it was the same for the cruise line too.

I just bought 24 cans of coke for $4.99. Now just setting a price of $5 on the mugs you would have to drink 144 cans of soda to break even on the mugs, and that is my price not the bulk Disney buys for. So do believe me when I say Disney does not loose any money and no one gets one up on them.

We just got back in Sept. and our mug was identical to the one we purchased in May of 2001.
For us, we woould not go to the trouble of packing a mug for a second trip. We purchase one as we go through the atrium each time. What is $35 when you just spent $2700?

Have been wanting to chime in on the Mug thing for a while ....
I dont think it is right to bring back the old mugs on another cruise to get free soda .....

Is the cost of the soda for vacation really going to put you in the poor house ? I dont think so not if u r going on Disney cruise...
I also believe that mugs r sold for length of that specific cruise ...
using mug again would Just not be right...
in our book
;)

OK...hold the heat....but I am bringing my mugs back with me...and maybe just drink free lemonade.....16 days to the "MAGIC"!

We had 14 of us on our trip with AAA mugs, that comes to $490
if we all bought one. Thats alot of $$ anyway you look at it. I
spent enough for cruise, don't nickel me to death with extra's
like having to buy soda on cruise. I'd bring them back over and
over and over and over. Are you listening Mickey? Regards, Gary

My best friends wife works for AAA...and she is working diligently on getting me 2 mugs...and when we return from our cruise we are spending 5 nights in POR.....and yes...we are bringing our Port Orleans Riverside mugs also....
